Directions: Set up 10 stations around the classroom (or outdoors if you can). Post each section of this handout around the room. (If the space is small, select as many as you can.) Have 2-3 students start at each of the 10 stations around the room, going clockwise around the room together, doing the physical activity challenges together. Have the students return to their seats (or to a designated spot if outdoors), when they have finished all 10 stations. To ensure the students understand the challenge, demonstrate (or have a student demonstrate) each station as you explain it. Also, you can ask the students to do a practice round first. Encourage drinking water when possible 1. Jump as high as you can 5 times. 2. Hop on one foot 5 times. 3. Hop like a rabbit 5 times. 4. Do 5 jumping jacks. 5. Run in place as fast as you can for 5 seconds. Balance on one foot, like a flamingo, for 5 seconds. 9. Reach your arms straight up as high as you can. Keep them there, for 5 seconds. 10. Bend forward and try to touch your toes and hold for 5 seconds. (Keep your legs straight if you can.)
