When I was asked to be part of the first
ever Fabric Fest in Las Vegas this
September 9–12, I couldn’t turn down
the invitation. I so enjoy sewing with
Riley Blake fabrics; they’re fresh, fun,
and colorful. So, I know that this event
will be equally exciting.

Creating a Business—One Stitch at a Time
In 1979, I took out $500 from a savings account, closed the same account since it was empty, and started a mail
order business. Three years later I began hosting and producing a cable TV show, Sewing With Nancy, when
(thankfully) most people didn’t have cable TV. I’ll share how meager beginnings turned into successful ventures.
There will be lots of storytelling, sharing the highs and lows—giggles and grins of over 30 years in business. (Below
