Lesson 5 - Who`s Thirsty?

WHO’S THIRSTY?
Lesson Five
Overview
Water is one resource that we cannot
live without. Water makes up about
70% of the human body. Every system
in the body requires water to function
correctly. Water aids in digestion, body
temperature regulation, transport of
essential nutrients, and body waste
disposal. On average, our body must
replace 2 to 3 quarts of water per day.
Some of this water comes from eating,
but the vast majority of water for the
body is replaced by drinking. The
human body needs about six glasses
of water a day.
At the conclusion of this section, your
students should be able to identify that
all humans need water to survive,
understand ways the human body
looses water, and how humans put
water back into their bodies.
