In order to be considered to vend/sell your products at the Marda Loop Farmers' Market you are
required to meet the following conditions:
a) Read and correctly complete all areas of this form
b) Have read, understand, and indicate agreement to all eligibility criteria, rules and regulations as
outlined in the MLFM Vendor Handbook 2017
c) Return this completed application and the $10 application fee (cheques should be addressed to Marda
Loop Communities Association) to the address below.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance, waitlist or decline within 10 business days of receipt of
completed application package. Within 2 weeks of receiving a Notice of Acceptance, and no later
than 1 month before market opening day (whichever comes first), successful applicants will
additionally be required to:
d) Provide a copy of your certificate of insurance naming Marda Loop Communities Association as an
additional insured
e) Provide copies of any and all certificates, permits or licenses applicable to the sale of products
f) Provide full payment for booth rental and all associated costs
Credit/debit card payment may be made in person at the MLCA office (Please call in advance), or by
cheque addressed to "Marda Loop Communities Association". Please write "Farmers' Market Fees" in the
memo line on your cheque.

PLEASE NOTE:
1. Community Booths may be booked by the same group no more than once per month
2. Electricity is available at a reasonable cost. You are responsible to supply your own outdoor electrical
cords; Please check what length you require once your booth has been assigned
3. Booth-back parking is available for a limited number of vendors, prioritized for vendors requiring
vehicle access during the market. Parking is available streetside, beside the market.
4. ALL VENDORS MUST provide their own 10 x 10 market tent, market sign(s), table(s), and any other
items required for market-day sale of their wares. MLFM has a very limited number of tents available for
rent for occasional and on-call vendors only.
5. Youth Vendors – Vendors ages 8-18, must make their own wares and be in attendance to vend

6. On-Call Vendors – we keep a roster of "short-notice" vendors willing to fill in for cancellations - please
let us know if you are interested
Stall fees are not due until applicant receives notification of acceptance. However, all fees must be paid
in full within two weeks of notification, or no later than one month before first market day, whichever comes
earlier. Credit/debit card payment may be made in person at the MLCA office (Please call in advance), or by
cheque addressed to "Marda Loop Communities Association". Please write "Farmers' Market Fees" in the
memo line on your cheque.

Other Applicable Fees
Application Fee: Due to the level of attention required to process information presented in vendor applications, a
non-refundable $10 application fee must accompany all applications for all vendors. Applicants must submit this
fee along with their completed application package.
Returned Cheque Policy: Any cheques returned for insufficient funds will be charged a $50 fee. Vendor will not be
able to attend the market until the matter is resolved.
Cancellation Penalty Policy: Cancellation penalties are outlined in the Cancellations and additional
attendance policies in the MLFM Vendor Handbook 2017. Cancellation penalties will be assessed at the time of
cancellation or "no-show", will be invoiced to the vendor within 3 days for immediate payment. Vendor will not be
able to attend the market until the matter is resolved.
ALL VENDORS: MARKET RULES, REGULATIONS AND LIABILITY
You must initial each line for understanding and acceptance. Please keep a copy of this document.
MLFM does not allow declarations regarding product growing methods that cannot be confirmed by site visit or
certification if applicable (e.g. “unsprayed,” “no spray”, “pesticide free”, “sustainably grown”, "organicallygrown"). This includes written and verbal declarations.

Vendors of value-added food items and made-goods are required to support all claims of locally-originating raw
ingredients by providing the name of the origin farm, grower or source of ingredients or inputs, along with any
other source-provided supporting documentation.

Only products with organic content that is greater than or equal to 95% may be labelled as "organic", or bear the
associated logos. These products must be certified and the name of the certification body must appear on your
signage or on the product label if applicable.

Multi-ingredient products with 70-95% organic content may have the declaration: "contains x% organic
ingredients". These products may not use the organic logo and/or claim "Organic". Multi-ingredient products with
less than 70% "organic" content may only contain organic claims in the product ingredient list, and may not use
the "organic" logo.

Vendor shall be insured against liability. Documentation is easily obtained thorough your insurance company, a
copy of which must be provided to Market Manager in advance of the first market day.

Vendor shall be responsible for any and all damages, including bodily injury and property damage, caused to the
Vendor as a result of their operation, their employees, equipment, including equipment provided to the Vendor by
the Marda Loop Communities Association, stall area, products, goods, property or vehicles at the Market.

Vendor agrees to release from all liability the Marda Loop Communities Association and the Farmers’ Market
Manager upon such occurrences as (1) death or injury arising from any happening at the Market, (2) loss or
damage to, or loss of use of property located in the Market and/or any other part of the Community Centre, (3)
death, injury, loss or damage to persons or property resulting from rain, flood, sun, fire explosion, snow or any
other natural or unnatural occurrence during Market days.

Vendor agrees to indemnify and save harmless Marda Loop Communities Association, the Farmers’ Market
Manager, the City of Calgary and Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development (collectively, the “Indemnified
Parties”) from and against all liabilities, claims, costs, expenses, or demands, including legal fees, which now or
hereafter may be suffered or incurred by any of the Indemnified Parties as a result of Vendor’s use of space at
the Market and the operations and equipment of the Vendor, including the use of the equipment provided to
Vendor by Marda Loop Communities Association.

the right and responsibility of the Farmers’ Market to determine final approval for vendors, items for sale, and

Vendors are chosen based on the suitability of their products in fulfilling the vision of the Marda Loop Farmers’
Market. Vendors and applicants are subject to approval. All potential vendors will be notified of application status
by phone or email. Registration is ongoing throughout the Farmers’ Market. Payment, signed contract and
Vendor Approval Notification is necessary to reserve your spot.
