CKS Buddy Bench
The Caps for Benches Program through Green Tree Plastics turns recycled
plastic caps and lids into benches. Christ the King School is collecting
plastic caps now. Any cap or lid that has the number 2, 4 or 5 in the
recycling symbol is acceptable. These caps are on water bottles, juice
bottles, Gatorade bottles, laundry detergent, ketchup, gelato, syrup, coffee
cans, milk bottles and so many other containers. Middle school houses are
paired up with elementary classrooms to compete for the most caps. The
challenge is to collect 20,000 caps and get two benches. Start saving caps
now. You’ll be doing a little bit to save the Earth, too!
The attached chart shows what’s acceptable and what’s not.
