RACE FORMAT
Season Starts – 27th January 2017
Season Ends – 16th June 2017
14 WEEKS OF POINTS RACING (WEATHER DEPENDANT)
IF IT RAINS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT – WE WILL RUN RACING ON
THE SUNDAY AFTERNOON (RACING STARTS AT 5PM).
RACING FORMAT
Mini Wheelers – 4 Races
Race 1, 2 and 3 will be run before start of moto 1. Race 4 at start of Moto 2.
Sprockets – 4 Races
Per Normal race order – 4 Moto’s
Age Classes and Cruisers
All classes that are 8 and over will be scored via the transponder system - no
transponder, no score and no transferring through to A final.
3 Moto’s and Finals
Accumulated points to end of moto 3, Top 8 go through to an ‘A’ Final, the rest will
transfer through to ‘B’ Final. ‘A’ Finalist points will be counted plus their moto points for
the night and B finalist’s moto points only, count for B Finalists for the night.
Semi-finals will be run for classes of 17 riders or more, these are run straight after
Moto 3 (no points scored for this race) Top 4 from each semi will transfer through to
Deadman A Final and balance of riders will transfer through to B Final.
Pro Men and Women (monetary)
3 Races and Finals
Accumulation of points at end of moto 3, except for lowest scored rider, the rest will
transfer to a Deadman final. Pro Men and women will be paid per ARA Rule 081.
QUALIFYING
You must race half plus one race nights to qualify for end of season
trophy or award. (If we race 14 weeks, then you must have raced 7
plus 1 = 8 race nights).
The points will be updated and available on the notice board near
the Pro Shop each week.

With the change to the ARA Rule 6.1 from 1
January 2017, the Cairns BMX have decided
to continue with their race rules where each
rider must register in their applicable age
group BUT riders will have an opportunity to
complete a request to the committee to ride
up further classes. This request will be
looked at by the committee and a response
given in 7 days of receipt of application.
Pro classes – gender applicable.
