Supplemental Information for CD-ROMs
This booklet provides supplemental information about the Perfection 1200
Scanner Software CD-ROM and other software CD-ROMs, and includes the
following sections.

❏ Software Installation Instructions
Before installing each application, please read the accompanying user
documentation. For instructions on accessing and viewing online manuals,
see “Reading PDF Online Manuals” below.
Note:
❏ Some manuals include instructions for the retail version of the software. There
may be minor differences between the software described and the software on the
CD-ROMs. Please read “Software Installation Instructions” on page 3 for more
information about the installation procedure.
❏ In some locations, some of the software may be unavailable.
Reading PDF Online Manuals
The following applications include PDF files that function as online manuals:
❏ Adobe® PageMill®
❏ Presto!™ PageManager for EPSON
❏ TextBridge® Classic
The following applications are included with selected models only.
❏ Adobe® PhotoDeluxe®
❏ Adobe Photoshop® 5.0LE
Note:
❏ In Windows, to read the documentation for the EZ-SCSI, double-click the
ReadMe file located in the “adaptec\Win9x_NT\Disk2” folder.
❏ If you use the scanner’s SCSI interface board with your Macintosh, see the
README FIRST file in the “Adaptec” folder.
Installing Acrobat Reader
To read PDF files, you need to install Acrobat Reader on your computer.
Follow the directions below.
Windows
1. Insert the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM into your CD-ROM
drive.
2. In the dialog box that appears, select your preferred language.
If a dialog box does not automatically appear, open the CD folder and
double-click Cdsetup.exe, then select your preferred language.

3. Click the Add Software icon, then make sure that “Acrobat Reader
Ver.4.0” is listed with a check mark in the application list.
Note:
Some of the software comes with a check mark in the application list by default.
If you want to read the PDF files without installing other applications, clear the
check marks next to the applications you do not want to install.
4. Click the OK button.
Macintosh
1. Insert the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM into your CD-ROM
drive.
2. Double-click Reader Installer in the CD-ROM’s “Acrobat Reader\
English” folder.
After installation, double-click any of the CD-ROMs’ PDF files to read them.
Finding the PDF files
Windows
Adobe PageMill
Insert the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM into your CD-ROM
drive. The Getting Started Guide for PageMill, Getstart.pdf, is located in the
“Pagemill\English\Userdocs” folder. Other PDF files in the “PageMill”
folder contain important information not included in the CD booklet.
Presto! PageManager for EPSON
Before you can access its PDF manual, you need to install PageManager. See
the next section for installation instructions. After installation, the user’s
guide for PageManager, PageManager User’s Manual, appears in the
“Presto! PageManager for EPSON” folder.
TextBridge Classic
Insert the TextBridge Classic CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The user’s
guide for TextBridge, Usrguide.pdf, is located in the “Tbcl20.95\English\
Tb_doc” folder.
Adobe PhotoDeluxe
Insert the PhotoDeluxe CD-ROM of your desired language into your CDROM drive. The user’s guide for PhotoDeluxe, Getstart.pdf, is located in
the “English” folder. Support information files can be found in the “Support”
folder.
Adobe Photoshop 5.0LE
Insert the Photoshop CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The user’s guide
for Photoshop, User Guide.pdf, is located in the “English” folder. Other PDF
files contain support information.
Macintosh
Adobe PageMill
Insert the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM into your CD-ROM
drive. The Getting Started Guide for PageMill, Getting Started.pdf, is

Software Installation Instructions
The following instructions explain how to install the software included on
the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM and other CD-ROMs.
Installation instructions are also included in the software documentation.
Note:
There may be minor differences between the software described and what is on this
CD-ROM. If the installation instructions in the software documentation differs from
the following instructions, please follow the instructions below.
Installing the software
Windows
Programs on the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM
You can install most of the programs on the CD-ROM from the EPSON
Software Setup dialog box that appears on your screen after you insert the
CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. See Chapter 3 of the Perfection 1200 User’s
Guide for details.
To install EPSON Scan! II, double-click Setup.exe in “EPSCAN2\English”
folder. See EPSON Scan! II’s online help for operating instructions.
TextBridge Classic
1. Insert the TextBridge Classic CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
2. In the dialog box that appears, select your preferred language.
If a dialog box does not automatically appear, open the CD folder and
double-click Setup.exe, then select your preferred language.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Adobe PhotoDeluxe
1. Insert the PhotoDeluxe CD-ROM of your desired language into your CDROM drive.

PageManager\English\Presto! PageManager Disk1” folder which is located
in the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM folder.
Adobe PageMill
Double-click Install PageMill®3.0 in the “PageMill\English” folder which is
located in the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM.
EPSON Instant Photo Print
Double-click Installer icon in the “EPSON Instant Photo Print\English”
folder which is located in the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CD-ROM
folder.
EPSON PersonalCopy
Double-click the icon of your preferred language in the “EPSON
PersonalCopy” folder, which is in the Perfection 1200 Scanner Software CDROM folder.
TextBridge Classic
1. Insert the TextBridge Classic CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click Install TextBridge 3.0 in the “TextBridge Classic 3.0” folder.
3. Select your preferred language and follow the on-screen instructions.
Adobe PhotoDeluxe
1. Insert the PhotoDeluxe CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click Adobe PhotoDeluxe™ Installer in the “English” folder,
then follow the on-screen instructions.
Adobe Photoshop 5.0LE
1. Insert the Photoshop CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click Install Photoshop® LE in the “English\Adobe Photoshop®
5.0LE” folder. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
Adaptec AVA-2903B Driver
To install the Adaptec AVA-2903B Driver, double-click the Adaptec AVA2903B Installer in the “Adaptec” folder.
