Development Electronics Technician
Star Hydraulics Ltd is looking to recruit a Development Electronics Technician to join its expanding
Industrial and Aerospace facilities based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. The successful candidate
will work in the Engineering Department developing new products as well as producing/repairing a
variety of Production Test Equipment.
Responsibilities
Design, build and test prototype electronic hardware suitable for open and closed loop control of a
variety of Electro-Hydraulic Control Valve designs.
Write LabVIEW based software for Test Stands under manual and automated control.
Prepare documentation for software, maintenance, operating and calibration.
Support and train staff, including apprentices, in a technical capacity.
Skill and Qualifications
A minimum of three years’ relevant experience.
Proven track record of designing and analysing electronic solutions.
Proficient in programming language LabVIEW. (C++ would be an advantage or similar High Level
Language)
Some knowledge of factory automation protocols i.e. CANopen, Profibus, EtherCAT.
Familiarity with programmable microcontrollers i.e. PIC.
A self-motivated, strong team player with creative and innovative ideas.
