THE TRUTH ABOUT STACEY
Author:
Raina Telgemeier
Publisher:New York: Graphix, an imprint of Scholastic, 2015
Call No.: Junior Lending English TEL
The Truth About Stacey is a graphic novel adaptation of the beloved The Baby-Sitters
Club (BSC) series, which was first published in the 1980s. Even though the original series
was written 30 years ago, the themes are still relevant today: children asserting their
independence, bullying at school, club rivalry and making amends. The Truth About
Stacey follows the members of the BSC as they contend with a rival babysitting club
called the Baby-Sitters Agency. While the BSC figure out how to solve this problem,
Stacey also has to come to terms with diabetes and manage her parents’ concerns.
Parents who loved this series as children will definitely want to pass the joy on. The Truth
About Stacey is the second book in this adapted series.
