Collins, Centerville Elementary, 5th Grade The Shiloh Middle School Student Council teams up with the Soul Project in order to collect shoes for adults and children in Ghana. The Soul Project takes gently used shoes to Ghana in order to prevent disease, and it also helps children get to school safely since they walk long distances. The student council members counted, sorted, and bagged the shoes in the large, blue barrels during the collection. Our students, faculty, and staff collected almost 1,000 pairs of shoes for people in Ghana during the month of December. “I love being a part of my Shiloh cluster! The elementary teams competed at the middle school several times, performing timed math computations The team with the highest average score earned the honor of keeping the cluster trophy until the next contest. It was exciting to see students, parents, teachers, and administrators from across the cluster unite to support our high achieving math students in this competition! Patriot Singers Safety Patrol Shiloh Morning News Distinguished Gentlemen Club Celebrating Black History Month, Annistown Elementary School Shiloh students gain confidence in their abilities and poise in a challenging format of competition in our annual Shiloh Black History Oratorical Contest. Tapping the rich tradition of oral expression and spoken word, our Shiloh participants choose poems and speeches that are meaningful to them and relevant to today’s experience. After the judging of the grade level competition, our champions conclude by successfully speaking in front of six hundred peers in the Black History assemblies and then leading in the Shiloh cluster events at Shiloh High School. As the winner of the largest education award in the country, Gwinnett County Public Schools will receive $1 million in college scholarships for its high school students. GCPS was recognized for outperforming similar districts in Georgia; narrowing achievement gaps; achieving high SAT, ACT, and AP participation rates; and, having a higher percentage of students performing at advanced levels.
