About Us: After coming off Back to Back State Championships, this
year's team expects to be a work in progress. There will be a blend
of both youth and experience on the floor throughout the season.
Leading the charge for the Lady Warriors this year will be veterans
Anjaleace White (sr.), Johanna McMillan (jr.) and Amber Genwright
(sr). Anjaleace White, who committed to attend George Washington
University, should remain a force in the middle. At the guards,
Johanna McMillan and Amber Genwright will be expected to provide
both leadership and stellar play. Each of these ladies has come off
successful summer campaigns that included garnering the attention
of many collegiate scouts.
This year more than ever Sanford will have to rely on newcomers and
small time contributers from last year team. Returnees expected to
contribute include Peyton Marcozzi, Shauntel Williams, Chesei Mack,
Asiyah Frank and Megan Yung. Newcomers to this mix will be
Jasmyn Parker (so), Ayanna Thompson( fr) and Chrisyannah Alston
(8th). The development of this group by mid February will
undoubtedly determine the success of this year's team come
tournament time.
