ROMANTIC NIGHT IN A GLASS IGLOO

In the glass-ceilinged Levi Igloos or the subterranean Northern Lights
House, you are surrounded by stunning fell scenery, and you can be
part of the great glory of nature all year round.
The constantly changing landscape spreads unobstructed before
your eyes. The open skies, adorned with clouds, stars and magical
northern lights, are your roof.
Experience the Arctic nature in a unique and luxurious way, only 10
kilometers from the bustling holiday resort of Levi. Envelop yourself
in the perfect peace of the untamed wilderness, while still having
access to local services.
There are 2 types of Igloos: Premium (4 igloos for 2 guests) and
Superior (8 igloos for 2 adults or a family of 3-4).
Each glass igloo is 23 m2 in size and has a kitchenette, shower and
toilet. The windows are insulated and electrically heated to keep
them from frosting.
The kitchenette is equipped with a breakfast set for two, electric
stove, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and fridge. In
addition, the igloos have a radio/CD player, a hair dryer and a socket
for car engine heaters. In the center of the igloo there is a motorized
double bed that can be converted into twin beds, from which you
can admire the scenery and night sky phenomena.
The Premium Igloos are located in a superb spot at the top of the
fell, guaranteeing breathtaking premium views. The unobstructed
panoramic vista stretches for miles.
The Premium Igloos include a delicious welcome fruit platter.
Additionally, guests are free to use the gorgeous Pentik crockery,
luxurious bathrobes, towels, slippers and a special massage shower.
Superior Igloos are located behind the Premium Igloos and have a
couch, which can be made into 1-2 extra beds.

There is a new restaurant in the area, where a 3-course half board dinner will
be served (with 2 or 3 main course alternatives). Price is 59 € /adult and 28 € /
children under 13. The dinner should be booked in advance.
In all igloos, there is a small but well equipped kitchenette with 2 electric hobs and a microwave (no oven), where the guests can prepare
their own meal if desired. Please note that there is no alcohol serving in Igloos or tee-pee, but guests can bring their own alcohol with
them.

Come and experience (atmospheric) Lapland Express Snowcat
trip in the amazing scenery of Levitunturi. From the big
windows of Snowcat you can admire the snowy mountain,
starry sky and possibly see some northern lights in the sky. In
the warm cabin we make our way towards the top and near
the top we stop to enjoy snacks and hot Lappish berry juice.
Inside there are 12 comfortable seats and 2 tables.

When the sun sets, comes the blue darkness of night. Then we’re ready for the
night adventure: we rev up our engines and speed across fields and through the
wilderness, hoping to see aurora borealis dancing in the sky, or at least hope to
see moon and the bright stars… After a while we will arrive to the lean-to, where
guide will make crackling campfire to keep the chill winds and freezing
temperatures at bay. We will have a cup of warm drink and fry sausages. Then
we head back home.

Travel in this Time Machine back to the past when Saami people back were using
the reindeers as the only means of transportation, and during long winter nights,
Northern lights showed them the way home.
We’ll start from Levi center after dinner and after 15 minutes will arrive to our
departure point located on the other side of the Levi mountain on the bank of
taiga river. Nature here is really fascinating. The local reindeer herders will take
you on a magical night safari thru the 3 km path in the forest and upon return you
can enjoy an unobstructed view to the Northern hemisphere and … may the luck
be with you to see the beautiful Aurora. During the stopover we will offer you a
warm berry juice and a warm-up place around an open fire in a teepee. Warm
overalls can be rented separately at 15 € per person.

We’ll be monitoring the status of Northern Lights, and when
the chances are high, we’ll pick you up at your hotel and
take you to a special place in Levi, with unobstructed
horizon and minimum light pollution. Minibus will be with
you during the tour and you can always warm up inside and
have a glass of warm berry juice. We recommend we aring
warm winter clothing, which can be rented at 15€ per
person.

Short minibus transfer to a safari house in Levi center, where you will gear up with
helmet and warm gloves. Followed by brief instructions by a guide, off you go!
Safari group will be accompanied by an experienced guide. Local Lappish people
claim that snowmobiling is the best way to see the beauties of the Arctic region.
There are over 1000 km maintained snowmobile tracks with signs and special rules .
After 30 minutes we’ll make a stop at Levi’s famous Snow & Ice village “Luvattumaa
– or Promised Land”.
This is the most beautiful snow village in Levi area. Our guide will give a tour around
- thru the snow labyrinths and explain the details of the snow village construction.

At the end you’ll return by snowmobiles back to Levi center (30 min). Those who
wish, can be returned to Levi by bus.

Visiting Elves house just 15 minutes away from Levi village is a unique
and unusual program for both children and adults. Once the bus
turns from the main road, thousands of candles and Christmas lights
will guide the way to the Elves Kingdom. The elves greet the guests
welcome and first invite them for fun winter activities. During the
outside program your kids will be tobogganing and having fun outside
together with elves. The wintery excursion to a nearby forest will
teach you interesting things of nature and animals. We also greet the
horses of the place.
After that the group will be led inside the Elves’ Cottage, where
together with elves kids will bake and decorate gingerbread cookies
and make decorations from nature’s own materials. Here you can
also write to Santa Claus, our elf postal service will deliver your letters
to him.
The highlight of the visit is meeting Santa Claus*. Santa will chat for a
moment with each family. Finally Missis Santa offers us traditional
rice porridge with raisin soup. The exciting day ends with goodbyes
and from the elves and Missis Santa. Don’t forget to tell greetings
from Santa to your friends as well. Merry Christmas!

A trip on a comfortable bus from Levi to Rovaniemi will take about 2 hours (170
km) and is fully accompanied by our English-speaking guide.
Our main target today the Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle, located 7 km
from Rovaniemi city – the “capital” of Lapland. After You have arrived to the
Village our guide will tell You a short story about i t and about the first celebrity
visitor in 1950. Then you’ll cross the Arctic Circle line on your way to the
entrance door to the official residence of Santa Claus. To meet the Santa in his
Chamber, You will have to pass the 100-meters long Magic Path. Then You will
have a meeting with Santa in his chamber. After that You will visit the Official
Santa Claus Post office, which receives thousands of letters from children and
adults from all over the world. Here you can send a postcard to your friends and
family members with the official Santa stamp and order a letter from Santa to
your child for the next Christmas. You will receive a certificate of crossing the
Arctic Circle from your guide. You can use the rest of the spare time to shop for
souvenirs and have lunch in the Village, after that we’ll get back in the bus and
continue to Rovaniemi city. Guide will tell a short story about the city, and our
bus will stop in the center. From this point you’ll have more spare time, which
you can use for exploring the pedestrian city center, visiting Arktikum museum
or Martiini knife factory outlet. In a while bus will head back towards Levi,
returning around 18:30.
Note: In Santa Claus Office it’s not allowed to take pictures or videos with your
own cameras. Professional photographers will take your picture, which you can
buy at the exit of the Office: Photograph A4 size 30 €, extra photographs 20 €,
electronic photo and video downloadable from a link: 40 € for a group of max. 5
pers (additional persons–5 €). In all other places of Santa Claus Village, including
the Post Office you can take photos and videos.

Santa Claus has a secret hideaway where he takes his lead reindeer
Rudolf to feed and at the same time takes a break from busy work

schedule in his cozy old Christmas house. Here, in a relaxed country -side
family atmosphere on the bank of Lappish river, Santa spends his
evenings meeting his good friends from around the world and sharing
his experiences with them. There will be no queues in this place,
because this would be a private evening just for Your team arranged by
us with care. Luckily this place is located not far from Levi and we can
reach it in just 15 min. Upon arrival You’ll be greeted by the Santa with
his reindeer Rudolf, and his helpers Elves. Santa will demonstrate You his

In this most popular dog kennel Husky park you can meet real Siberian huskies

At “Wingren’s” husky farm you’ll feel the difference of owners being professional sport
dog racers and have specially trained Alaskan huskies, who have won two times in
famous sled dog race Finnmarksløpet in Norwegian Alta in a 500km distance. This
breed was created by cross-breeding in the beginning of 20th century in Alaska
especially for dog racing during the gold rush period. There are over 70 dogs in this
farm, including Greenlandic husky and wolf-dog and of course husky puppies. Farm is
located just 20 min drive from the Levi center on Muna lake in a beautiful pine forest.
Upon arrival at the farm, guests will be given brief instructions of driving the dog sled
and then start the safari immediately. The largest part of tracks is in the forest, and
part is on the open lake. After the ride guests are welcomed by the owner inside a cozy

On this excursion we will take you to a reindeer farm owned by a family in the

Local Lappish people claim that snowmobiling is the best way to see the beauties of the Arctic region. There are over
1000 km maintained snowmobile tracks with signs and special rules. Nevertheless, it’s quite easy to lose one’s way
for the first time, that’s why to guarantee the quality time, we highly recommend for the first time to go on an
organized safari with a small group of tourists and with an experienced local guide.

lean-to, where guide will make crackling campfire to keep the chill winds and
freezing temperatures at bay. We will have a cup of warm drink and fry

- KUMPUTUNTURI FELL FLURRY
East of Levi lies the 581m-high Kumputunturi Fell, one of the highest undeveloped
fells in the area. A fire patrolman or two used to be on duty at its summit, and their
fire patrol pavilion is still standing. To reach our destination we traverse aapa
bogland, frozen rivers and we slalom between the trees. On the journey, we pop into
a Lappish reindeer village.
And then we eat. On a snowmobile ride, you can work up a huge appetite, which can
be satisfied by cooking over a glowing village fireplace or a campfire in the
wilderness, just like real reindeer herdsmen do.
On Kumputunturi Fell, we doff our hats and pay homage to Seita (a Lappish stone
idol), bow down to the four winds, and photograph the stunning landscape as a
souvenir. Then we slowly descend back to our starting point. By then, we really know
what ‘tired but happy’ means.
- JERISJÄRVI ENCHANTMENT
The scenery at Jerisjärvi Lake near Muonio is said to be strikingly beautiful and
wonderfully relaxing for the busy folk from the south. The drive is also interesting
and varied. There are high fells, flat open lakes and rugged forests deep in snow. The
scenic restaurant of the Jeris Hotel awaits us at
our destination. From its award-winning menu,
we can enjoy such delicacies as Jerisjärvi
whitefish. If the pack of adventurers so desires,
we can stay a little longer, relax in the sauna at
the Japanese-style Jeris Spa and maybe even
take a dip in the ice pool. The journey home is
taken at a leisurely pace.

FISHING WITH THE SHAMAN…

The Shaman tells about the magical atmosphere of Lapland, of gnomes,
Northern Lights, of Lappish nature and lastly endows the travelers with good
luck dedicating them the magical circle of Lapland. When the Shaman leaves, the
fisherman takes his place and takes you on to the lake in a beautiful winter
landscape.
”Juomustus” is an ancient form of winter fishing, which has been used for
centuries in Lapland. Before heading for the fishing nets, you are told how the
nets can be inserted under the ice and what tools are required. After that we go
to the fishing nets excited to see the possible amount of catch. We check the
nets together and the prey instinct of even first-time visitors is bound to awake
when the nets cork-line vibrates in their hands and soon the silvery whitefish
glints in the ice hole. Usually beautiful whitefish are caught in the lake. After the
experience , it’s time for a delicious meal in the kota. You can
exiting fishing experience,
enjoy your meal accompanied with exciting legends by the master story-teller by
a warm campfire.

- The program venue in Keimiöniemi is reachable by car or mini-bus to the
yard, from where the kota on the lake shore is about 50 meters away. A bus can
stop about 100 meters from the lake shore.
- The program takes place on the lake shore where a kota (Lappish teepee) and

EQUIPMENT. For the activities everyone will be provided with all the necessary driving equipment: helmets, balaclavas and

INSURANCE. All vehicles used in our programs are insured as required by Finnish law. This insurance covers medical care for
injuries of the driver and the passenger arising from accidents. Participants are held liable for damages caused to the vehic les. The
amount of personal liability is maximum 1500 € / damage. We cannot accept any liability for personal inj uries or material damage
arising from accidents during other activities which do not involve car or snowmobile driving. Personal travel insurance is

The savusauna (smoke sauna) is a special type of sauna without a chimney. Finns
think it the country’s best-kept secret. Like a spiritual experience, the smoke
sauna experience is something that cannot be described by words, but has to be
experienced: it’s the enjoyment of its transitory effects which result in longer
lasting feeling of well-being called “löyly” in Finnish. Heating process goes for 5 -6
hours so that large amount of wood is burned in a particularly large stove and
the smoke fills the room. When the sauna is hot enough, the fire is allowed to
die and the smoke is ventilated out. The residual heat of the stove is enough for
the duration of the sauna. Secret lies in a soft heat and the aroma of woodsmoke. Walls and ceiling always remain with thick black resid ue. Air exchange is
the most important factor in a sauna: the smoke can easily come out and fresh
oxygen come in.

Ranua Wildlife Park, one of the main highlights of Lapland, offers tourists and nearby
inhabitants the opportunity to observe arctic animals throughout the year, in an as
authentic environment for the animals as possible. Ranua Wildlife Park is open every
day of the year, and the changing seasons do bring their own additional dimension to
the life in the park. The park animals consist of approximately 50 wild animal species

A bus-trip from Levi to Ranua will take about 3 hours (250 km) with a comfortable bus
accompanied by our English-speaking guide. Park location is 80 km south of
Rovaniemi. At the park there is a souvenir shop and café, where we will have lunch.
Some years back in Ranua there was one of the first “Fazer” chocolate factories i n
Finland, nowadays – a large “Fazer” factory store with a handful of chocolate
products. Our assistant will be accompanying you in a trip and will tell a lot of
information about Ranua zoo. Included in package price is bus transfer, entrance

Afternoon cruise is - depending on the month - either a twilight
atmosphere on the Gulf of Bothnia (December) or a unique
combination of light hours and the "blue moment" on the frozen sea.
During the cruise you will have a guided tour on board the icebreaker
visiting its facilities from the engine room all the way up to the
captain’s bridge.
You will be served a delicious soup-lunch in the Restaurant on board

“Samiland” Museum UNESCO (1 hr).

Levi Samiland museum is under the patronage of Unesco, telling about lifestyle
and culture of the last remaining indigenous people in Europ e – Saami. Museum
was build in 2011 by a descendant of famous and powerful Lappish shaman (as
they call a wise witch) Mr. Kapin Jouni – Mr. Ante Aikio .
Part of the exhibition is indoors 500 м2 (downstairs of Levi Summit congress
center), and bigger part – outdoors 10000 м2 on the Levi fell side. Our museum
host, Ante Aikio, a descendant of a famous Saami “shaman” will guide us thru
museum himself, signing joik songs and playing drum. Ante will also present you his
new Lappish saga book “Fantoms of the Fenlake”. He invites you to a local “kota”
teepee house so you can warm around open fire. In the museums’ territory there is
a small reindeer corral, where You can feed them with lichen and take pictures of
the beautiful nature on the fell side.
Included in the price of premium package: return ticket on Gondola Express from Levi
center to Levi Summit, tour around the museum guided personally by Ante Aikio, wearing a
traditional dress and playing drum and “joiking” (singing Saami songs), bag of lichen for
reindeer feeding, tea/coffee in Levi Summit café.

Norwegian-style “King Crab House” restaurant
The Norwegian couple Håkon and Toini Karlsen have been running and owning a hotel and fish restaurant in Repvåg
for 20 years and now a fishing camp in Sarnes. They wanted to bring this North Norwegian atmosphere to the middle
of Lapland and opened the doors at KingCrab House in Levi in the beginning of November 2012. Every fish and king
crab served in the KingCrab House is brought straight from the Arctic Sea, usually by Håkon himself. Our chefs are
proudly cooking everything from scratch with great raw mate rials. Relax, enjoy a glass of good wine and be amazed
by the Arctic flavors!

Snow Dome is a restaurant built out of snow and ice located
on the mountain slope adjacent to Hotel Levi Panorama. You
will experience a delicious dinner in the surreal environment
of 4,000 m3 of snow and ice furniture. There is seating for 64
people. The diameter of the building is 17 meters measured
from the exterior of the walls and the height in the middle will
reach 10 meters.
The temperature inside the Snow Dome will in general vary
between -2C to -7C. Guests who do not have proper thermal
clothing with them will be given a warm winter jacket to wear
in the Snow Dome. Warm winter boots are recommended.
Snow Dome serves a three-course menu. Welcome drink and
starter will be served in the Snow Dome and main course and
dessert - in the warm restaurant facilities of Hotel Levi
