Math –Chapter 7 – Add and Subtract Fractions
In this chapter students will learn how to subtract
parts of a whole, write a fraction as a sum of fractions
with the same denominators, add and subtract
fractions with like denominators using models, add and
subtract fractions with like denominators without
models, rename mixed numbers as fractions greater
than 1 and rename fractions greater than 1 as mixed
numbers, add and subtract mixed numbers with like
denominators, rename a mixed number to help them
subtract, add fractions with like denominators using
the properties of addition, and use the strategy act it
out to solve multistep problems with fractions.

Investigation 2 – Electricity and Energy
Students will explore how sound energy is produced by
vibrations, and will study the nature of sound waves. They will
explore the transfer of sound energy through gas, water and
solids. In addition, students will explore the nature of wave
behavior by investigating amplitude and pitch.

Social Studies Chapter 5 – “Birthplace of
Independence”
In this chapter we learn how the French and Indian
War affected Pennsylvania, what led the colonies to
separate from Great Britain, and the role Pennsylvania
played in the American Revolution.
