The judges were Miss Alice Berger, interviewer of the N.Y. Hayden purchasing and personnel man- , ager of The Patchogue Electric Light Co.; Edward M. Mitchell, executive director of the Merchants Division of the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce; and David Sheldon, director of the Gateway Playhouse. Mrs. Muriel Gallagher, chairman of the affair, said judging was on the basis of being representative of the community, poise grooming, scholastic ability, leadership and potentials to society. Miss Helen Smith, 1962 winner crowned Miss Belcher. Miss Marilyn Porto, the first Miss Hagerman (1961) set in place the green title ribbon lettered in gold and presented her with two dozen roses. The two-foot tall trophy donated by the Benevolent Association of Hagerman Firemen was presented by the president. She also received a $25 Bond from the Civic Association. Also chosen for second and third place were the Misses Noel Carole Litwin, 20, a scanner at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Litwin-of East Patchogue, and Barbara Leddy, 16, an Academic student tenth grade, majoring in science at Bellport High School. The other contestants were Misses Sandra Gonnelly, Joann Savino, Joann Corsi, Rita Ann Andrunik, Carol Ann Hanratty, Carlyn Przetablewtcz, Lucille Smith, Elizabeth Heerbrandt, Dorothy Kastendieck and Denise Albinowski. The girls wore Summer party dresses and received orchid corsages. Each received another gift. Miss Litwin received a week-end case, a travel case, necklace and earring set, chain and drop pearl set, and a bouquet J J of short stemmed roses. Miss Belcher received other gifts, from the Bee Hive Sore, certificate for a princess telephone from the N.Y. Telephone Co. Suffolk Branch; a certificate from the Patchogue Merchants Division; a check from theLadles Auxiliary, Hagerman Fire Department; a personal check from Harold C. Hayden, the Miss Hagerman cake from Weaver's Delicatessen, a flash camera from the association, flash bulbs and film from Vinny's Luncheonnette and cosmetics from Genes'Market. Other donors were Michael Famiglietti, who gave the tickets for the affair, the two place plaques, and a man's wrist watch for an attendance award. The Miss Hagerman crown was donated by Mrs. Gallagher, vicepresident. Orchid corsages were donated by I.W. Bianchi Greenhouses, three dozen roses by Paragon Florists, Mr. Chambers of Reliable Paper Co. donated a pen. The place winners gifts and Dash camera were gotten through donations of merchandisestamps given by members of the association, who also donated salads for the buffet supper. Six small trophies were given to winners of dance contests. Mrs. Virginia Brown of West Sayville was the winner of the man 's wrist watch. Not present to receive $50 bond and $25 bond awards were Roman Sontioga of 631 Hendrix Street, Brooklyn and CloCLlde Coliso of 4 Linde Court, Hicksville. Miss Belcher is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Belcher of 434 MacDonald Avenue, Bellport. She is 16, 5*71/2 " eleventh grade academic student in Bellport High School. She will attend teachers college after graduation to become an elementary school teacher. She likes art, music, sports. She models, and will be a councilor In the Summer for the YMCA.
