They regarded the Americans as antiFrench, and felt reasonably well treated under British rule. As in the American Revolution, the Canadiens supported the British in 1812 Negative Effects Agriculture declined because farmers were called away or volunteered their time to fight the war rather than tend the fields - crops ruined Also, fields damaged by battles fought upon them.
