Electronic Community Sign Guidelines The Village of Lisle operates an electronic sign located at Route 53 and Main Street (5220 Main Street) at the southern gateway into Downtown Lisle. The Village primarily uses the sign to provide pertinent information to the public, for special event announcements and Village sponsored promotions. In an emergency, all messages will be suspended and only crisis related information will be displayed. As an electronic sign offers the capability to display multiple messages at a time, the Village will allow other entities to display messages on the sign throughout the year. The following guidelines outline electronic sign usage. Messages: The four color LED sign will be operational from 6 AM – 10:30 PM daily, 365 days per year. The sign will be dimmed between 10:30 PM and 6:00 AM daily. The sign can display text, color graphics and short video clips. Eligibility: The following entities are eligible to submit electronic sign messages: Lisle organizations that are sponsoring an event which is open to the community whose primary purpose is not-for-profit and not for commercial gain. Other government entities such as the Park District, Schools, Library, Protect DuPage, Department of Homeland Security, etc. At this time, commercial, private, religious, political and for-profit entities are not eligible to post messages on the sign. Other announcement requests will be reviewed on an individual basis. Fees: A fee of $10 is required for each message displayed on the electronic sign. Messages can be displayed up to one month prior to an event. Messages will be placed in rotation with other messages. Reservations: Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The Village retains the right to display or deny messages. Content: The Village will create messages using the text provided by the event organizer. In some instances, a photo may be used if it can be displayed effectively on the sign. Editorial: The Village of Lisle maintains the authority to create and edit all messages and to deny messages deemed in violation of these guidelines. Message Specifications: The sign dimensions are 8.4 feet wide and 4.6 feet tall. Messages will be displayed for an average of six seconds for a single screen message and 3 seconds if the message uses two screens. As motorists have little time to read, please keep messages concise and limited to two screens. To Send a Message: Text messages and photos should be sent to [email protected] two weeks prior to the event. A payment of $10 per message must be paid at the same time the message is submitted. Payments can be made via the Village’s website, villageoflisle.org, (select “Online Payment” at the top of the homepage) or mailed/delivered to the Business Office at Village of Lisle, 925 Burlington Avenue, Lisle, Illinois 60532.
