Right in the centre of the cathedral city of St
Davids is Oriel Y Felin housing the work of
artist Pauline Beynon plus a showcase of
selected works from invited and local artists.
In Nun Street is the creative cwtch of Cheese
and Pickles studio, where artist and illustrator

Just off the square in City Hall, Creative Fusion
brings you an exhibition of original work by
artists and craft makers from South-west Wales.
Head out of the city towards Solva, you will see
Oriel y Parc. This state-of-the-art gallery houses
works from the National Museum of Wales and
includes works by Graham Sutherland, as well
being a visitor centre. Carry on into Solva, then
turn up to Middle Mill and The Solva Woollen
Mill. The only mill in Wales specialising in flat
woven carpets, rugs and runners. Off the main
Haverfordwest road, watch out for Hilton Court
where you will find Celtic Images Gallery, with its
evocative collection of images of Pembrokeshire
from various contributors.

Description: In 1797, the last ever invasion of mainland Britain took place when a French force landed three miles
west of Fishguard. The fascinating story of this event is told on a 100-foot long embroidered tapestry, designed and
sewn by 80 local women. It’s in a similar format and shape as the Bayeux Tapestry and is now internationally famous.
The Tapestry was commissioned as a permanent legacy of the Invasion Bicentenary in 1997. It took four years to
complete and is exhibited in a purpose-built gallery attached to the Library in Fishguard Town Hall. Museum exhibits
and an AV room showing films related to the making of the Tapestry are included.
Directions: Situated in the centre of Fishguard in the Town Hall adjacent to the Library.

Description: Visit the artist’s studio/gallery at her home near Strumble Head and see a range of colourful, atmospheric
watercolours (framed and unframed) - landscapes, seascapes and flower paintings. Judy has a degree in Fine Art and
has taught for over thirty years and contributed to a number of books about watercolour. She has exhibited at the Mall
Galleries and Bankside in London - also locally and throughout Wales with the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales. Her
approach is intuitive and spontaneous, painterly and loose - come and see her work in a relaxed and beautiful setting.
Directions: From Goodwick, follow signs to Strumble Head passing through Stop & Call. Turn left towards St
Nicholas and Rhos-y-Caerau. After approximately one mile, turn right down a small lane to Rhos-y-Caerau, taking
a left fork and then a sharp left by the postbox and chapel. Proceed to the far end of this lane and the farmhouse

Description: The oldest working woollen mill in Pembrokeshire, Solva is now the only mill in Wales specialising in flat
woven carpets, rugs and runners. This family business uses traditional skills to create their own design of rugs as well
as bespoke orders that have included Llwynywormwood, The Landmark Trust and the Manchester City Gallery.
The original mill has been refurbished and is now home to the new mill shop which sources quality products made
in Wales and the UK. Visitors can relax beside the original waterwheel restored in 2007 or sit and enjoy home-made
cakes in the old dye shed.
