2014 SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT
GF’S TINY RIPPLE...
What a great community we live in full of individuals and organizations that
are selflessly committed to making a difference — whether searching for a
cure for childhood cancer, helping young girls gain self-confidence and great
health through running, making it possible for musicians at every level to create
and play incredible music, or making sure that those who are the least among
us are provided equal access to justice. We continue to be amazed and inspired
by all the people working tirelessly to make positive changes. This year we
again want to share with you the impact these individuals and organizations are
making in our community and how they have reminded us of the importance
of creating a ripple. All of us at Gjording Fouser would like to wish you a
wonderful new year filled with both giving and receiving countless tiny ripples!
Sincerely,
Jack S. Gjording

GIRLS ON THE RUN IDAHO
Girls on the Run Idaho (GOTR) is a non-profit program that teaches life skills to girls in the 3rd through
5th grades through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. GOTR is much more than a running
program. It is a positive youth development program that follows a set curriculum that has been tested
and proven to “statistically improve girls’ self-esteem and body image.” The program culminates
with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event.
You can learn more about GOTR and how to get involved at gotr.org.

BOISE PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION
The Boise Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) works to improve the quality of education each and
every day for over 25,000 students in the Boise School District. Boise schools pride themselves on having
a passionate focus on music education, one of the programs that BPSF supports. All elementary students
receive music instruction. In addition, an impressive array of opportunities are provided for junior and
senior high students. Several recent studies have indicated the connection between the arts and
academic success and graduation rates. You can learn more about the BPSF and how to get involved
at boiseschoolsfoundation.com.

ACCESS TO JUSTICE IDAHO CAMPAIGN
The Access to Justice Idaho campaign is an annual effort to raise funds to provide support for the three
principal providers of free civil legal services for poor and vulnerable Idahoans. There is an urgent need
for funding for DisAbility Rights Idaho (DRI), Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS), and Idaho Volunteer Lawyers
Program (IVLP), which have seen drastic cuts in their funding sources at a time when demand for legal
services is at an all-time high. A contribution to Access to Justice Idaho will ensure these Idaho legal
organizations continue to serve the people without resources and people with disabilities throughout
Idaho in cases such as domestic violence, foreclosure prevention, disability claims, access for long-term care,
guardianships, and other legal services that would otherwise be out of reach. You can learn more about
the campaign and how to get involved at isb.idaho.gov.

BEN TOWNE FOUNDATION
Ben Towne Foundation (BTF) was started by Jeff and Carin Towne in memory of their oldest son Ben,
a fiercely determined, passionate and loving boy, who died of neuroblastoma at the age of three.
BTF is a movement of moms, dads, kids, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, colleagues, neighbors
and businesses who believe that we have the power to cure childhood cancer. BTF partners exclusively
with the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research (BTCCCR) at Seattle Children’s Research
Institute, where 100% of all contributions are invested. The focus of the BTCCCR is to discover and
develop innovative, targeted therapies for curing childhood cancers. You can learn more about
Ben Towne Foundation and how to get involved at bentownefoundation.org.
