Meet our new members
Rebeccah Malott was sponsored by DP June.
“I have known Rebeccah since she was in grade 9
at RDHS. She joined Key Club and never looked
back. She attended every meeting, every
convention and worked at every event. She was a
tireless supporter of Key Club, Kiwanis and service
to others.
Since returning to Ridgetown after graduation from
Lambton College she is employed full-time at
Foodland. She helps her mother and is a great,
supportive role model for her younger brother,
Josh.
I know that Rebeccah will be an asset to the
Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown because she truly
understands service. She never asks anything of
herself, only others. She will attend meetings,
work at events and will help anyone and everyone.
I think of Rebeccah as a friend and I am very happy
to sponsor her to be one of our newest members.”
Mary Ann Hawthorne was sponsored by
Kiwanian Wendy.
“Mary Ann, also known as Wiggy, is married to
Mike and they have two daughters, Haley and
Kristy, both attending RDHS. She is employed by
Dresden Industrial as their Health & Safety and
EMS administrator. Mary Ann has served on the
executive board for the Kent County Fillies and
assisted extensively in the launch of this hockey
association in 2010. She has also served her
community as ice carnival director, Ridgetown
minor hockey board and fundraising for these
associations. She is a team player never asking
who but how we can make it better.”
Chris Wegrzyn was sponsored by Regional
Trustee Allen.
“Chris was born and raised in Ridgetown, graduate
of RDHS and still lives in Ridgetown. Chris joined
the Dresden Police Force and is currently a
member of the Chatham-Kent Police Force. He is
married to Kelly, and they have three children. He
has sat on the Ridgetown Minor Hockey board for
several years. He is a hands-on person and will
pitch in on our many projects. He believes in our
work with children. He will definitely fit into this
club because he is a terrible golfer.”
The Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown meets weekly at 6:30 pm in the basement of Mount Zion
Presbyterian Church, 59 Main St. E., Ridgetown, every Thursday, from September 1st through June
30th each year. Summer meetings are hosted by members at various local addresses.

Karolyn Ure was sponsored by IT Dr.
John.
“Karolyn has grown up with Kiwanis as she is the
daughter of Regional Trustee Allen. Karolyn is a
graduate of RDHS and went on to pursue a
career in accounting. She now works with Allen
in Ure Accounting Services. Karolyn’s passion
growing up was skating and she has returned to
that passion recently joining an adult
synchronized skating team, Chatham-Kent
Electric Ice. I know Karolyn will be a passionate
member of Kiwanis, willing to help whenever or
wherever needed.”
