Scott’s Pinwheel Finished quilt: 45" x 57" Finished block: 12" Materials 3/8 yard medium blue 3/8 yard lime green ½ yard dark blue green 1 yard white background 1 5/8 yards dark green 2 3/4 yards backing Cutting From the medium blue, cut: 5 strips, 2" x 42" From the lime green, cut: 2 ½ strips, 3 ½" x 42" From the dark blue green, cut: 6 strips, 2" x 42", crosscut into 48 rectangles, 2" x 5" From the white background, cut: 5 strips, 3 ½" x 42" 5 strips, 2 ½" x 42", crosscut 1 strip in half for 2 pieces 21" From the dark green, cut: 2 ½ strips, 5" x 42" 5 border strips, 5" x 42" 5 binding strips, 2 1/4" x 42" Making the Blocks 5. 1. Sew a 3 ½" white strip to a 2" medium blue strip. Make 5 strip sets. Cut 48 segments, 3 ½” each. 2. Sew a 3 ½" lime green strip to a 2" white strip. Make 2 ½ strip sets. Cut 48 segments, each 2" wide. Sew a dark green segment to the lime green edge of each block from step 4. Join four quarters to complete 12 blocks as shown. Quilt Assembly 3. Sew 48 medium blue segments to the 48 lime segments, as shown. Sew the 2" x 5" dark blue rectangles to the medium blue edges of all 48 blocks. 1. Sew the blocks into four rows with three blocks in each row. Sew the rows together. 2. Sew the 5" dark green border strips to the quilt top.
