FRANCE AND THE HUNDRED YEARS` WAR

FRANCE AND THE HUNDRED YEARS’ WAR
1430
The Hundred Years’ War was actually a series of wars over the French throne. Two
families, the Plantagenet and the Valois, claimed the throne. The house of Plantagenet
also claimed the throne of England. After several periods of war, the Plantagenet family
finally gave up their claim to the French throne after the 1453 Battle of Castillon.
