Directions and teacher notes for USI.5b • Copy the templates front to back, so that the title page/map matches the graphic organizers for each colony. Each student will need 3 front to back copied pages, with each copied page making a half-book about one colonial region. • Students fold each copied page in half, hamburger fold, to create half books about each colony. • Have student shade in and label the colonies that were part of each region on the map. • Have students complete the questions posed in the graphic organizers. • Direct students to draw illustrations about life in each colony in the two drawing boxes, adding non-linguistic representations for some of the information about each regional colony group.
