A MESSAGE FROM COACH LARSON
The summer 2017 basketball camp season will be here quickly. Where your players choose to
attend camp is an important decision. Crucial time, money and energy will be spent at camp. I believe our camp
to be an excellent choice.
Passing, catching, offensive footwork, the ability to shoot and finish – its obvious these skills are
crucial to be successful on the basketball court. It’s a game of skills and those skills have to be executed playing
at full speed. These skills are what our camp at Prairie du Chien is all about.
At our perimeter camp I believe we help players to understand what factors lead to excellent
perimeter play. Each session we focus on techniques and skills that are crucial to good play. It is our belief that
by improving the skill level of your players we can then also increase their desire to play their position the way
it is supposed to be played. Besides increasing the campers’ level of play we strive to enhance their basketball
intelligence and their ability to communicate. I want each player to return to you with new ideas, drills, and
workouts to be more inspired, dedicated and effective.
CAMP DIRECTORS
Forrest Larson, 2003 Wisconsin High School Coach of the Year, was the head basketball coach at
Ladysmith High School for 15 years. Recently his teams have made four trips to the state tournament, played for
the state championship in 1996 and 2002, and won the state championship in 2003. The success of these teams
has been based on their perimeter skills. Larson has also produced two well0konwn offensive skill tapes, “Take
it to the Rim” and “100 Trips-A Full Court Workout.” He has lectured on the topics of motivation and ball
handling at over one hundred camps in fifteen different states and is a 2011 WBCA Hall of Fame inductee.
Currently, is the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Lake Geneva Badger.
WHAT COACHES ARE SAYING
“Forrest Larson is proof that you can be a great teacher of the game no matter where you are. I
would send my son or daughter to his camp in a New York minute. “
…Dick Bennett, Retired Head Coach University of
Wisconsin/Washington State
“At the Prairie du Chien Perimeter Camp you will use many of the same drills we use in our own
individual instruction. If you are serious about putting in the time and effort that it takes to
become a better player, I would strongly recommend that this camp be part of your summer
schedule.”
…Billy Donovan Head Coach, Oklahoma Thunder
