 BOARD OF EDUCATION Bristol, Connecticut SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMITTEE MEETING Wednesday, February 27, 2013 Present: Jill Fitzgerald (6:37), Genard Dolan, Karen Bourassa, Karen Hintz (excused) Also present: Susan Moreau, Steven Wysowski, Timothy Callahan and Christopher D’Amato. 1. The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Dolan at 6:33 p.m. 2. Approval of the January 16, 2013 minutes. On a motion by Commissioner Bourassa and seconded by Commissioner Dolan, it was unanimously Voted: to approve the minutes of the January 16, 2013 meeting. 3. Operations Committee to serve as the Building Committee for the Board of Education Roof Project – Review of Architect’s Proposals Susan Moreau explained the process for replacing the Board of Education roof. Timothy Callahan reviewed the chart with the responses to the Request for Proposal for architects. The project should take approximately six months. Paperwork will be submitted to the State for reimbursement of 35% of the cost. He made a recommendation to award the contract to the BL Company. On a motion by Commissioner Bourassa and seconded by Commissioner Fitzgerald, it was unanimously Voted: to award the contract for architect for the Board of Education roof project to the BL Company for $8,000. 4. Update on the Bristol Eastern High School Lights Project. Steven Wysowski updated the committee on future fundraisers. On March 22 a dinner and silent auction will be held at Nuchies. There is a car raffle for a 2013 Nissan Versa courtesy of Crowley/Harte Nissan ongoing through October 21. The current balance in the Lights Project account is $23,852. 5.
