Republic of the Philippines DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE Regional Field Office 12, Koronadal City Telefax No. (083) 381 0091 NARRATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT AGRI PINOY CORN PROGRAM CY 2012 INTRODUCTION : CY 2012 implementation of the AgriPinoy Corn Program had garnered a General Weighted Average of 94 Physical Accomplishment. The Corn Production Performance of the industry posted a 2.65% increase compared to its production in CY 2011 of 1,170,554 M.T. This year, the region had produced an additional metric tonnage of 31,025 M.T. Corn Grains placing the region to Rank No. 3 all over the country with 1,201,579 Metric Tons which contributes 16.0 % to the National Corn Production Performance. The increased had been attributed by the increased of Cropping Intensity due to favorable Weather Condition and High Buying Price of Corn Grains. PRODUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES 1. Support to OPV White Corn Production & Cassava Seed Pieces Propagation The AgriPinoy Corn Program in the region had eventually planted Ten (10) hectares of OPV White Corn Seeds and ten (10) hectares of Cassava at its different Research Outreach Stations for the purpose of massive reproduction of available OPV Registered Seeds to be used for distribution during extreme climatic condition and Cassava seed piecesfor mass production and redistribution to qualified interested recipients. Under the Calamity Assistance Intervention, the region had able to distribute 1,076 bags of OPV White Corn Foundation Seeds to Calamity affected Municipalities in Region 12. MAJOR FINAL OUTPUT C. Organic Based Agriculture The program continually supported the conduct of Soil Fertility Mapping and Sampling Activities for the remaining provinces in the region. A techno demo was also conducted during the 1st quarter at the Pres. Roxas, North Cotabato. 3. Biological Control Program There were 2,000,000 Trichocards being produced and distributed 1,350,000 Cards. This enabled to serve 9,725 Farmer Beneficiaries covering 4,863 Hectares. Pilot Farm Mechanization and Tractor Pool Project As part of the government’s effort to mechanized farming in our region, the program had eventually distributed Thirteen (14) Units Heavy Duty Farm Tractors with 90 H.P. POST HARVEST DEVELOPMENT SERVICES Establishment of one (1) unit (10 tonner) Village Type COC Dryer was inaugurated and constructions of Five (5) units (10 tonner) and two (2) units (20 tonner) are still on-going. Sixteen (16) units of Hermetic Cocoons being purchased and stocked at the DA CEMIARC, Tupi. For the Cassava Project, six (6) units of Combined Cassava Chipper & Granulator were purchased and stocked at the DA CEMIARC, Tupi. Aflatoxin Prevention Program In the pursuit of Aflatoxin Prevention Program, the region maintained One (1) Aflatoxin Laboratory and had only analyzed 116 Samples out of 150 samples as targeted. These include corn grains processed at DANABCOR sites in the region and the newly Village Type Corn on Cobs Dryer in Surallah, South Cotabato. o The low accomplishment is due to the temporary No Operation of the Laboratory due to the plan to transfer it to General Santos City.
