SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES
4.1 Description of First Aid Measures
Eye: Flush eyes with plenty of water, holding the eyelids apart. Get medical attention if irritation occurs and persists.
Skin: Wash contact area with soap and water for several minutes. Get medical attention if irritation or rash develops.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. Get medical attention if irritation or symptoms develop.
Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting. Get immediate medical attention.
4.2 Most Important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: May cause skin and respiratory irritation. May cause
drowsiness or dizziness if inhaled. May cause an allergic skin reaction. This product contains Ethyl Benzene which is suspected
of causing cancer. Risk of cancer depends on level and duration of exposure. Prolonged inhalation of respirable crystalline silica
above certain concentrations may cause lung diseases, including silicosis and lung cancer. This product may cause damage to the
central nervous system through prolonged exposure. Aspiration hazard. May be aspirated into the lungs during swallowing or
vomiting and cause severe lung damage.
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Immediate medical attention required if
ingested.
SECTION 5: FIRE AND EXPLOSION DATA
5.1 Extinguishing Media: Use water mist, alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical.
5.2 Special Hazards Arising from the Substance or Mixture
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: Extremely flammable aerosol. Contents under pressure. Keep away from
ignition source and open flames. Exposure of containers to heat and flames can cause them to rupture, often with violent
force.
Combustion Products: Oxides of carbon.
5.3 Advice for Fire-Fighters:
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Wear an approved, positive pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus and full
protective clothing for all fires involving chemicals. Contain water used in firefighting from entering sewers or natural
waterways.
SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
6.1 Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment and Emergency Procedures:
Do not breathe mist or aerosol. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Keep
unprotected personnel away. Use non-sparking tools and equipment. Eliminate all ignition sources. Ventilate the area with
explosion-proof equipment.
6.2 Environmental Precautions:
Avoid release to the environment. Report spills and releases as required to appropriate authorities.
6.3 Methods and Material for Containment and Cleaning Up:
Place leaking can in a pail in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources until pressure has dissipated. Collect liquid using
inert material and place into a suitable container for disposal. Report releases as required by local, state and federal authorities.
6.4 Reference to Other Sections: Refer to Section 8 for personal protective equipment and Section 13 for disposal information.
SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
3 of 8
Tail Alert - Aerosol
June 7, 2016
7.1 Precautions for Safe Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Do not breathe mist or aerosol. Use only with
adequate ventilation. Keep product away from heat, direct sunlight and all sources of electricity. Keep out of the reach of
children. Do not puncture or incinerate containers. Electricity can burn a hole in the can and cause contents to burst into flames.
To avoid serious burn injury, do not let the can touch battery terminals, electrical connections on motors or appliances or any
other source of electricity.
7.2 Conditions for Safe Storage, Including any Incompatibilities: Store in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from
incompatible materials. Do not store in direct sunlight or above 120°F. U.F.C. (NFPA 30B) Level 3 Aerosol.
7.3 Specific end use(s): Cattle marking for oestrus activity detection.

8.2 Exposure Controls:
Appropriate Engineering Controls: General exhaust ventilation should be adequate to maintain exposures below
occupational exposure limits. Use explosion-proof equipment where required.
Respiratory Protection: None required for normal use with adequate ventilation. If the occupational exposure limits are
exceeded, an approved organic vapor respirator may be used. Respirator selection and use should be based on contaminant
type, form, and concentration. Follow applicable regulations and good Industrial Hygiene practice.
Skin Protection: Impervious gloves are recommended if needed to avoid contact.
Eye Protection: Chemical safety goggles should be used if eye contact is likely.
Other Protective Equipment: Impervious clothing is required to prevent skin contact and contamination of personal
clothing.
