Charmed Adventures
will begin in January
A 5 month program, with NEW blocks, NEW techniques and 30 minute stitch-outs’.
HoopSisters has a unique technique of combining
embroidery with piecing and quilting to make perfect quilt blocks. The blocks, completed in the embroidery hoop, are sewn together by machine and
the seam allowances on the back of the quilt are
covered with fabric strips — or do a whole-cloth
back for the assembled blocks.
LBHQ’s HoopSisters class will meet once each
month for 8 months. During the first 5 months,
you will receive the design files to complete the
top. The remaining 3 months will be time set aside
for you to bring your embroidery machine to work
on your “Charmed Adventure” quilt project.
Each month, our session will include a demonstration of the block stitch-outs, construction tips, special techniques and help with your embroidery
stitch out or even other embroidery projects. Our
monthly session will offer time for you to bring
your embroidery machine to stitch out the blocks or work on Charmed Adventures or previous HoopSisters
programs. Two options are available for finishing the quilt with either a binding or add the optional border
for $40.00.
Unique to the 2017 Embroider Block of the Month “Charmed Adventures” is the paper pieced center medallion. Class Fee includes all quilt files and handout materials except as noted above. Class #723

FREE MOTION QUILTING MADE EASY
WITH TEMPLATES
We are offering a fabulous new class in 2017 which offers free motion quilting on domestic machines without drawing lines first or
following stencils. Our new class has the answer …..
New machine quilting tools?
We like to refer to the technique as Free
Motion Quilting with training wheels. The
technique developed in Australia includes Ruler Feet and specially designed
templates to use on most brands of domestic sewing machines.
Join Ladybug Hill Quilts for a multi-month
class series where you will learn how to
free motion quilt with templates by designing and quilting your own Quilt-AsYou-Go sampler quilt.
Our first class begins with the basics of
machine set up, fabric choices and requirements. Then we will continue with designing your first series of block patterns. This QuiltAs-You-Go sampler quilt is a MYSTERY quilt with VIDEO lessons
provided with each monthly class.
We will be using the CLASS STARTER KIT which has the Foot/Shank
based on the model of your machine. We recommend a Sew Steady
table or an extension table to provide adequate space for quilting
with template techniques. Any machine that will lower the feed
dogs will work. You do not need a large machine to be successful

FREE MOTION QUILTING WITH MOO
Whether you have a small or large sewing machine, if your machine can lower
the feed dogs, then you can successfully take Moo’s 4 session class. Class
begins the 4th Saturday in January.
Moo will share her techniques and tips to help you begin your free motion
quilting journey. This is a “hands on” class so bringing your machine is critical
to learning and practice.

SCHOOLHOUSE * A 12 MONTH QUILTING JOURNEY
Beginners — You are invited to join our 2017 NEW, EXCITING
quilting journey. This is a skill development class like no other!
We will start from the beginning from selecting fabrics, cutting,
piecing borders and finish with binding. We will explore new
techniques, tools and methods during our 12 month program.
Select your own color palette — or work in a similar colorway
as the original quilt designed by Sandi Ray. This quilt would be
stunning batiks, reproductions, your stash or any fabric of your
choice. Each month we will build on the previous to grow your

MC15000vs2? The Janome MC15000vs2 is an amazing sewing and embroidery machine. Join Sydney
as she guides you through this new class experience.
We are offering a NEW class for 2017 designed specifically for our MC15000vs2 owners. This is an advanced class
you can take any time. Take the advanced class first or at the same time as the owner’s class. The MC15000vs has so
many features and functions to help YOU expand your sewing/embroidery world. It will be a fun journey!
Our class is also available to any owner of the MC15000vs2 whether you purchased from us, purchased elsewhere or
have moved to our area with a MC15000vs2 and want to join a Janome community. We love the MC15000vs2 and
we’d love to have you join us! We’re going to focus on the “how to” rather than a specific project. No one wants more
UFO’s so this class will be about exploration and learning.
We will use the MC15000 Workbook designed by Janome Educators as one of our resources but will not be limited to

As we celebrate our 15th year, we are bringing back several of our most
popular classes. While it has been 6 years since I have taught the Blooming
9 Patch, many of our previous class members have shared the memories of
making more than just one Blooming 9 Patch with me.
The “Blooming 9 Patch” has been our #1 class over the years and I am excited to share this fun technique that will make a simply gorgeous quilt.

Our Double Wedding Ring Star Table or Bed Runner is not only spectacular looking —it is surprisingly easy since
it is made in the hoop.
5” hoops make 10” rings and 8” hoops make 15” rings. This design is for a table or bed runner
only and includes sizes from 20” x 20” to 30” x 120”.
Blocks are totally pieced in the hoop, joined in the hoop and quilted in the hoop. Contains “Join
As You Go” instructions with continuous backing and batting strips!

VICE VERSA BLOCK OF THE MONTH FROM SISTER QUILTS

We are so excited to give you a sneak peak of our 2017 Saturday Sampler program. We will feature “Sister Sampler Quilts” from Gen X Quilters. We have
selected the “Vice Versa” quilt for our program.
Vice Versa Block of the Month Sampler Quilt features traditional piecing methods with fun modern layout with a twist.
What’s the twist? Instead of creating just one of each block, all blocks in the in
our program are made as “sister” pairs. Create them to your liking as identical
twins or invert the color for a completely scrappy sets. These are classic
blocks which we’ll set in a modern funky way. We’ll use bright colors focusing
on contrast and interest.
A series of individual Block Patterns will be featured during our 10 month program. Build these skills: color and value within blocks, master block basics like
half-square triangles, flying geese, hourglass, stitch-n-flip and on point block
setting. The block are in order of increasing difficulty. We’ll feature “new” or
“easy” methods for block construction when appropriate for the blocks in our
program. The 10th month will assist you with layout choices, setting and finishing.
There are two finished sizes of the quilt depending on the block size you choose to make. Our kits will
be for the 12” finished block version. However, you can make the 9” finished blocks if you wish.

How will our program work? Make 2 blocks each month for 8
months

Select your background color — our kits will NOT include the background. We have found over the years that
most everyone wants to select their own background color. Won’t this be exciting to see all of the creativity
each month.
After class each month, go home and make your block and return to class the next month with your block made.

JANOME SERVICE * CLASS POLICIES * WEATHER DELAYS
Ladybug Hill Quilts is an authorized Janome, Elna and Necchi service and repair center for Southern
Colorado. Our staff of two is lead by Bill, a “Certified Janome Technician”. Margaret has 12 months
experience with service and repair. Turn around time varies. Please call 719-593-5949 if you wish
to schedule service or repair.
Class Registration
To reserve a space in a class, it is necessary to pre-register and prepay for the class.
Students are encouraged to register early to reserve their space.
In the event you wish to bring someone with you to class, a separate class registration is required.
We honor and support our design community, therefore, all students are required to have a personally purchased copy of either the pattern, book or CD for the class. Please bring your purchased
book, pattern or CD to class, not a copy.
Class Discount for Supplies: We offer a 10% discount for class supplies on teacher provided supply
list.
Class Refund Policies
Please verify your schedule when you enroll in a class. We are unable to refund, re-schedule or transfer if you
miss a class or session.
Please contact LBHQ (7) seven days in advance of the class date to receive a full refund of the class fee. If you
have purchased supplies for the class, we are unable to refund these items.
Because of the popularity of our Free Motion Class with Moo, our normal 7 day cancellation policy DOES NOT
APPLY. If you enroll and need to cancel, we will refund your class fee only if we can fill the slot. Otherwise
there is no refund of the fee.
If Ladybug Hill Quilts cancels a class due to low enrollment, students will be notified and a refund or store credit will be given for the class fee.
In case of weather related class cancellations etc., When you enroll, please provide your DAY contact
number, cell phone number and email. We will contact you by all phone numbers and email for weather updates. If we cannot reach you personally, a message will be left. Should you have any questions regarding a
class, please call. Our voice mail system will also have weather updates.
We follow D11’s weather delays and closure.
When D11 schools are on a delay, we will open between 10 and 12 as weather permits for those staff members
who are driving to our location. If D11 is closed, we will cancel day and evening classes. If school was open but
evening activities are cancelled, we will also cancel evening classes. For our employees safety, we may elect
to close early if we are experiencing a severe weather. If classes are scheduled, we will contact students regarding cancellation. Please call if you have any questions regarding our weather closure policy.
