BLOCK ASSEMBLY Quilt top consists of (28) Hexagon Blocks. Use HEXAGON and
TRIANGLE TEMPLATES (WITH SEAM ALLOWNCE) provided to make Hexagon Blocks.
1. HEXAGONS: Trace 2 HEXAGONS on (1) A 7-1/2" x WOF strip, see diagram below. Cut
out both hexagons and set aside. Repeat step for B-H fabrics, FUSSY CUT E HEXAGONS.

2. CUTTING TRIANGLES: You have two options:
OPTION A: Referring to diagrams below, take (1) J 4" x WOF strip and fold in half via short edge. Subcut (6) pairs of 3" x 4"
rectangles. Then use TRIANGLE TEMPLATE to draw cutting line for two triangles. Repeat steps with remaining J 4" x WOF strips
to have a total of (112) TRIANGLE TEMPLATES. Set aside.

OPTION B: Cut out TRIANGLE TEMPLATE to make two templates. Using one TRIANGLE TEMPLATE, place it on top of (1) folded J 4" x WOF
strip. Cut triangle, then rotate TRIANGLE TEMPLATE, as shown in diagram, to cut another triangle. Repeat step to yield (112) TRIANGLE
TEMPLATES. Set aside.

3. HEXAGON BLOCK: Referring to block diagrams,
sew (4) J triangles to corners of (1) A hexagon, right sides together.
Begin with top corners first, then proceed to bottom corners. NOTE TRIANGLE
CORNERS WILL OVERLAP. Open and press J corners and trim HEXAGON BLOCK
to 8-1/2" W x 7-1/2" L. Repeat for remaining hexagons,
for a total of (28) HEXAGON BLOCKS.

QUILT ASSEMBLY Quilt top consists of three ROW UNITS. Refer to QUILT DIAGRAM and QUILT PHOTO for following steps.
4. ROW UNIT 1 and 3: Using (8) HEXAGON BLOCKS and (2) I 2" x 14-1/2" sashing strips assemble ROW UNIT 1.
Then sew (1) I 1-1/4" x 35-1/2" strip to top and bottom of ROW UNIT. Repeat steps to make Row Unit 3.
5. ROW UNIT 2: Using (12) HEXAGON BLOCKS and (2) I 2" x 21-1/2" sashing strips assemble ROW UNIT 3.
6. Sew ROW UNIT 1 to ROW UNIT 2 and so forth.
BORDER ASSEMBLY Measure length of quilt top to ensure IJI side borders. Below are our sizes.
6. IJI SIDE BORDERS: Sew (1) J 1-1/4" x (52-1/2") strip between (2) I 2" x (52-1/2"). Make 2 IJI borders
and sew one to each side of quilt top.
FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3" larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste
or pin. When done quilting, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.
