Short Description
This is one of ten caches placed for the 2013 Cache Across Maryland.
In celebration of the 10th Annual CAM, we are honoring the first MGS Cache Across Maryland by taking
cachers back to the original 2004 CAM locations!
Long Description
Each location was picked specifically by the original CAM hiders to give cachers a taste of the state and
show you its beauty. By combining all ten, you'll be able to see why Maryland is truly "America in
Miniature". We hope you enjoy them!
This cache is placed no too far from the original CAM 2004 Annapolis location GCJ1KY
hidden by Trevelyan's R&R.
You are seeking a traditional cache. Please be sure to replace the cache exactly as found! This cache was

This Geocache brings you to Beautiful Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, and a sweeping vista of the South
River and Loden Pond.
Nestled between the South River and Harness Creek, Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis offers a wide variety
of activities. Visitors can walk, jog, or bike on over 6 miles of paved trails winding through hardwood
forests and past grassy fields, play at the multi-level children’s playground, enjoy the vistas of the South
River promenade and scenic overlook, or picnic among 340 acres of beautiful parkland. Seasonally, you
can enjoy ice skating in the park, or rent kayaks and paddle boats.
The park is open from 7 a.m. to dusk daily but CLOSED ON TUESDAYS. Pedestrians and bikes can enter

the park for free via the paved trail near the entrance. Otherwise, admittance is $6.00 per car. There is
ample parking just outside the park entrance should you choose to pile into a car with others or walk/bike
into the park. The park will accept a valid Anne Arundel County Parks Annual Pass in lieu of the regular
admittance fee.
There are several other geocaches located in the park, including several CAM bonus caches. To reach this
cache, park at the designated coordinates and take the asphalt path toward the South River Promenade,
turning left, head southeast into the woods just a few paces down the path.
It is common knowledge that prior to becoming a park, Quiet Waters was a farm. However, the history of
Quiet Waters extends several millennia into the past, with evidence of pre-historic aboriginal occupation.
Upon the colonization of the Americas, Quiet Waters became a valuable plot of land, changing hands many
times before its final ownership by Anne Arundel County. To completely understand the historical and
pre-historical habitation of Quiet Waters it is necessary to look at the areas environmental condition as
glacial recession marked the end of the last ice age, approximately 15,000 B.C.
