Baby Play Time is held Mondays, now through October 24th at 10:00 a.m. Borough
children ages 12-23 months and a parent/caregiver are invited to join Miss Donna
for nursery rhymes, songs, finger plays and time to play with our toys! A few
openings for the series are still available, so call or stop in today to register.
Writer/photographer Jim Wright presented a fascinating talk on the history and
lore of High Mountain on Tuesday, October 4th. Wright is the author of The “Bird
Watcher” column in the Record as well as several books, including Ghosts of
Allendale and The Nature of the Meadowlands. A Tuesday Talks for Seniors, the
event was hosted by the Friends of the Library and The Nature Conservancy.
Toddler Story Time is held on Wednesdays, now through October 26that 10:00 a.m.
Borough two-year olds and a parent/caregiver join Miss Donna for stories, songs,
games and a simple craft. Registration for the current 6-week series is filled;
however, names are being accepted for the Wait List.
Tech Talk with Claire Houghton-Kiel is held Thursday evenings now through
October 27th. Reserve a time slot (7:30 or 8:15 p.m.) and a date for your one-onone instruction a.s.a.p. Funding for Tech Talk is provided by the Friends.
Preschool Story Time with Miss Donna is held Fridays, now through October 28th.
Preschool story time is geared to children ages 3-5 and includes picture book
stories, songs, games and an easy craft. Registration for the current 6-week
series is filled; however, names are being accepted for the Wait List.
Board Game Afternoon was held Friday, October 7th at 3:30 p.m. Borough children
in grades K and over joined Miss Donna for some after-school fun.
The Readers Kaffeeklatsch will meet Tuesday, October 11th at 1:30 p.m. to discuss
The Wives of Los Alamos by Tarashea Nesbit. Joanne Tattersall will moderate
the discussion. New members are always welcome!
Super Science with Miss Donna will be held on Friday, October 14th at 3:30 p.m.
This monthly program is recommended for children in grades K-4. Registration for
the October and November programs is filled. Registration for the December
Super Science event will begin November 25th.

The Crafty Ladies Club will meet on Tuesday, October 18th at 1:30 p.m. Members
will paint and decorate BOO Blocks. All supplies will be provided. Registration is
now underway.
After-School Story Time will be held Friday, October 21st at 3:30 p.m. Borough
children in grades K-4 are invited to join Miss Donna for stories, songs, games and
a make-and-take craft. Registration is now underway.
The recent feature film, Me Before You will be shown on Tuesday, October 25th at
1:30 p.m. After losing her job as a waitress, a young woman named Lou (Emilia
Clarke) is hired to act as a caregiver for Will (Sam Claflin), a banker who was
paralyzed in an accident. Although Will has grown despondent since his injury,
Lou’s no-nonsense ways force him to reconnect with life, and the pair eventually
develop feelings for each other. A Movies Worth Watching presentation, Me
Before You is rated PG-13 and runs 110 minutes. Seating is limited; preregistration is highly recommended.
Join Miss Susan for a guided tour of the north end of Central Park on Wednesday,
October 26th. We’ll meet at the library at 9 a.m., board a 14-passenger Ford
Transit van and head over to the Park. As we Walk ‘n’ Talk, our way through
Central Park, Mario Medici, licensed NYC tour guide, will discuss points of interest.
Lunch will be on your own. After lunch, we will continue sightseeing until 3 p.m., at
which time we will board the van and head back home. This trip is hosted by the
Friends of the Library in conjunction with the Board of Library Trustees. Cost
per person for transportation & driver’s tip is $40.00 ($35.00 for members of
Friends.) Registration is filled; however, names are being accepted for the Wait
List.
The Snack ‘n’ Chat Club will meet Friday, October 28th at 3:30 p.m. Borough 5th-8th
graders are invited to join Miss Donna for a snack and some after-school fun!
Registration is now underway.
