GUIDELINES FOR THE GRANT OF TOUR OPERATORS’ LICENSE FOR
NIGERIAN CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE
An applicant for the grant of Tour Operator’s License for Nigerian Christian
Pilgrimage must meet the following conditions
1. It must be a Limited Liability Company or a Church, duly registered in
Nigeria for the purpose of Tour Operation for Christian Pilgrimage. This
must be evidenced in its Memorandum and Articles of Association or
Constitution as the case may be.
2. The registered Share Capital of the company must not be less than
10,000,000(Ten Million Naira)
3. There must be attached to the application evidence of three (3) years Tax
Clearance Certificate of the Company.
4. Submission of a Certified True Copy of the Certificate of Incorporation of
the Company/Church.
5. Submission of Police Clearance for each Director of the Company or each
Trustee of the Church stating that the Director /Trustee has never been
convicted of any offence involving dishonesty. The Company /Church may
also be subjected to security screening by the relevant Government
Agencies.
6. Payment to the NCPC of the sum of N50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira
only) non-refundable application fee.
7. Payment to the NCPC of the sum of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand
Naira only) as licensing fee after approval but precedent to issuance of
license.
8. It must be noted that the license issued shall be valid for a period of one
(1) year subject to renewal. Renewal fees shall be N50,000 which payment
must be made before the end of the 12th month of obtaining the license.
9. Copy of agreement with Groundhandlers in Israel and other Holy must be
provided. The said Ground handlers must be approved by the NCPC.
10. The completed form should be submitted along with the following:
I.
Copy of Company’s Certificate of Incorporation, Forms CO7, CO2
and Memorandum and Articles of Association. For Churches, Copy
of the Certificate of Incorporation and Constitution.
II.
Copy
of
Tenancy
Agreement
of
the
applicant’s
registered
address/place of business and/or Certificate of Occupancy.
III.
A copy of the Company’s Tax Clearance Certificate for the past Three
years.
IV.
Two (2) passport size photographs of each of the Directors/Trustees
(authenticated by a Notary Public).
V.
Copy of receipt of purchase of application form.
VI.
Copy of the Constitution of the Church where applicable.
VII.
Copy of signed agreement with Groundhandlers in Israel.
11. Every intending pilgrim shall be required to provide a letter of Guarantee
Form from his/her Pastor/Priest/Reverend or a Senior Civil Servant of
Directorate Cadre.
12. Note that the Tour Operator shall be liable to pay a fine of $5,000 US
dollars for each pilgrim that absconds in addition to suspension or
withdrawal of license.
Note that if a license is withdrawn, the Tour Operator cannot reapply until
after a period of two years.
13. Tour operators shall comply with all relevant Israeli, Italian AND Greek
guidelines.
14. The NCPC reserves the right to review the above guidelines or introduce
new ones from time to time.
15. All enquiries should be directed to the Commission’s Legal Unit.
