the Whiteoak High School band performed the
“Star Spangled Banner” and “Taps”, poems and
readings were given, and the veterans performed
the meaning behind the folding of the American
flag. Veterans Day is a holiday to show appreciation for the men and women who have fought or
are still fighting for American freedom. Thank you
to all the veterans who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. Special thanks to
the veterans who came to Whiteoak High School
today.

Task Force News—
—Written by Miss Hahn
The Task Force would like to thank the police, the
sheriff's department and the fire department for their
help and service to the community. The Task Force
sold Halloween candy grams to make money to buy
chips, candy, cookies and assorted other goodies.
Miss Hahn put the baskets together. Sergeant Stroop
delivered the baskets to the police department and
the sheriff's department and Chelsea Chisman took
the fire department a basket. Thank you to everyone
who bought and sold the candy grams. The money
went for a well-deserved reward for our local heroes.

Myth: Coffee just stimulates
the nervous system. Regular

“addictive” in the way drugs
are.

Tell It Like It Is
Dear Destiny:
Why does a person’s nose
run when they are outside
and it’s cold?
~Weather Woman
Dear WW:
When it's very cold out, the
air is usually dry as well,
and the nose is really working overtime to add some
fluid so the air we breathe
is warm and humid when it
reaches our lungs. It’s a natural thing.

Tech News—
When Apple in September took
the controversial step of announcing an iPhone without a
headphone jack, it announced an
accessory that provides a workaround: a pair of wireless ear
buds called AirPods, which it
said would sell in October for
$159. Now Apple is changing its tune. On Silicon Valley tech said it
needs “a little more time” to ship the AirPods. This is an unusual
misstep for a company that isn’t known to miss self-declared deadlines. Does this mean there was a problem with the AirPods? Let’s
hope not!
