The 2016 SMASH Contest Is Now Open!
(Sports, Math and Scientific Hypothesis Contest)
All Arlington students from Kindergarten through 5 th Grade are invited to participate.
The goal of this contest is to encourage kids in Elementary School to illustrate any
connection between the world of sports and the principles of Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)!
There are THREE Divisions: Grades K-1, Grades 2-3 and Grades 4-5
To enter, draw on an 8½” by 11” sheet of paper any connection between the world of
sports and the world of math and science. For example, an entry could show how a
baseball player transfers energy to a bat and then to a ball to hit it out of the park!
Draw with a pencil, pen, or crayon – anything at all!
BE SURE TO HAVE FUN AND USE YOUR IMAGINATION!!!
Entries should be postmarked by
Wednesday, February 1, 2017, and sent to:

Multiple prizes will be awarded in each Division, and a
special Awards ceremony featuring sports and
technology celebrities will be held in the spring!
