Tory Marie Arnberger graduates from Fort Hays State University next
month with a bachelor's degree in business education. Instead of
teaching, however, Arnberger has chosen a different path.
Arnberger, 22, recently announced her candidacy for the Republican
nomination for the Kansas House of Representatives for the 112th

Reminder: Author Andria Williams book
signing set for April 19

Author Andria Williams' presentation and book signing will be from 6 to
7:30 p.m. at the Hays Public Library in the Main Floor Gallery on
Tuesday, April 19. The event is free and open to the public.
Williams is the author of "The Longest Night," a novel based on a

Herndon Speech Clinic to host fourth annual
'Run/Walk to Help Children Talk'

The Herndon Speech Language-Hearing Clinic at Fort Hays State
University and the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing
Association will sponsor the fourth annual "Run/Walk to Help Children
Talk" from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 23, on the FHSU Quad
near Rarick Hall. More
Mindful Drawing Project to bring in guest
artist, exhibit research during Spring Art Walk

They start each session with a practice of meditation led by a
philosophy professor, then transition their thoughts to drawing with an
art professor.
Now it is time for the students of the Mindful Drawing Project at Fort
Hays State University to bring in an external reviewer and then exhibit
their research at the Spring Art Walk. More

The first thing Zeke Haag and Matthew Bieker did when they entered
the ring was shake hands with their opponents. Then it was a matter of
pushing a button, stepping back and letting their fighting machine take
over.
The Ellis County 4-H students were among more than 190 middle
school competitors who gathered at Fort Hays State University on
Friday afternoon for the 11th annual LEGO Robotics competition. The
most popular contest of the day was Sumo Bots, a mild form of robot
fighting. The event is hosted by FHSU’s Science and Mathematics
Institute. More

Music and Theatre Department presents
Handel's Julius Caesar April 8, 10

The Fort Hays State University Department of Music and Theatre’s
Opera Theatre will present one of the most popular and often produced
Baroque operas, Julius Caesar by composer G. F. Handel, most widely
known for Messiah. Handel’s opera is a historical dramatization of the
love affair between Caesar and Cleopatra set in ancient Egypt.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday,
April 10, in Felten-Start Theatre in Malloy Hall on the FHSU campus.
With a runtime of two hours and fifteen minutes, ticket prices are $15
for adults and $10 for students or seniors.
Science Café to present talk on photovoltaic
research

Photovoltaic Research: What's a Carrot Got to do with It?" at 7 p.m.
