IN CRANBROOK, BC IS HOSTING
The 2015 BC provincial silhouette championships
Small bore: MAY 16-17
High Power: May 18-19
Jury: A jury will be appointed before the match.
Eligibility: All competitors must be members of BC Target Sports Association or their local equivalent for
place of residency, IE: other province or state. BC Target Sports memberships will be available!
Classification: Current NRA Metallic Silhouette Rifle rules will apply. Unclassified competitors will
compete in the highest available class. Classification books must be presented when registering at the
range.
If there are less than three shooters per class, shooters will be moved up to the next higher class.
Entry Fees:
Individual Rifle(s) $55.00
All Four Rifles $200.00
Juniors, any Rifle(s) $20.00. A junior is defined as someone who has not reached their
21st birthday prior to December 31, 2015.
Certification of Firearms: All rifles must be certified prior to their use in the tournament. Rifle
certification begins May 15 at 2 PM. Equipment and apparel may be inspected at random by Match
Officials during the matches.
Safety: All rules for safety will be strictly enforced. Failure to conform will be a basis for disqualification.
1. Rifle actions will be open at all times except on the firing line after the "ready" command is given. At
the command "cease fire" all firearm actions will be opened IMMEDIATELY. Open chamber indicators
that insert directly into the chamber are mandatory. 2. "Dry Firing" or aiming firearms behind the firing
line is prohibited. Firing line commands must be observed by users of the designated dry firing area. 3.
When not on the firing line firearms will be placed either on racks with open chamber indicators
inserted in chambers, in rifle cases or other safe places. 4. A shot fired before the "Ready" command
will result in disqualification for the day's match. 5. The Match Directors or Range Officers have the
authority to ban any competitor, firearm or ammunition at any time for reasons of safety. 6.
Consumption of any alcoholic beverage, narcotic or controlled substance which can impair the normal
mental or physical functions of the body, on the range or in the spectator or public areas immediately
adjacent to the range while the range is in use is prohibited. Disorderly conduct or intoxication is not

permitted on the range or the range property. Violators of this regulation will be subject to immediate
disqualification from these Championships with no return of entry fees.
Special Squadding Requests: Requests for special squadding of competitors sharing equipment or
coaching will be accommodated where possible on a first come, first served basis provided such
requests are made in writing at the time of entry. It will not be possible to consider special squadding
requests for late entries.
AWARDS AND PRIZES WILL FOLLOW BC PROVINCIAL GUIDELINES. AWARDS ARE AS FOLLOWS:






40 SHOT MATCHES - MATCH WINNER, First place for all classes
AGGREGATE AWARDS - 120 SHOT small bore up to third place
AGGREGATE AWARDS - 80 SHOT high power up to third place
Top Junior, Top Lady, Top Senior awards
BC OPEN CHAMPION - Eligible competitors - FROM ANY PROVINCE OR STATE.
BC RESIDENT CHAMPION
BC Provincial Championships: Small bore competition will consist of three 40-shot matches for each rifle
with a total of 120 shots for the aggregate. Small bore practice and sight in on Friday May 15th, and in
the mornings prior to start of first matches. High Power will consist of two 40-shot matches for each rifle
with the total of 80 shots for the aggregate.
May 15: Range is open for practice starting at 12:00 PM. Rifle certification begins at 2 PM.
Competitors will set their own targets and police the range.
May 16: Standard Rifle match #1 starts @ 9am
Lunch break. Then Standard Rifle match #2.
Awards for days matches.
Door Prizes. BBQ Dinner.
Hunter Rifle match #1 to follow.
May 17: Hunter Rifle match #2 @ 9am
Lunch break. Then Hunter Rifle match #3.
Standard Rifle match #3 to follow.
Awards for small bore.
QUIET TIME: The range will be closed for a 2 hour break following small bore to allow participants to
visit prior to high power sight in. High power sight in prior to matches Monday and Tuesday morning.
May 17: High Power Standard Rifle match #1 @ 9am
Lunch break. High Power Hunter Rifle match #1.
Awards for days matches.
May 19: High Power Standard Rifle match #2 @ 9am
Lunch break. Then High Power Hunter Rifle match #2.
Awards for High Power.
Advance registration is recommended as tournament entries are limited. Due to the format and
timeline of the small bore competition, the number of competitors will be limited to 80 per rifle. All
applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis!
