John L. Sutlive was an editor for the Savannah Evening Press.
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of photocopies of papers written by John L. Sutlive and read before the Cosmos Club in
Savannah, 1959-1971. Subject include Pleasant A. Stovall and William G. Sutlive, society in Savannah as reported in
the Savannah Evening Press, Rebecca Latimer Felton and Gen. John B. Gordon, the Congressional inquiry of Judge
Emory Speer, society in Savannah as reported by Harriet Ross Colquitt, the last chapter of the Alvah Chapman-Mills
Lane partnership in Savannah newspapers, reflections of books on Georgia, and Georgia politics. The original papers
remained in his possession.
