Nuclear Sunset Orange Touch Up Application Information For Professional Use Only-No warranty expressed or implied!! This touch up kit is only intended to make your scratch less noticeable. It is not intended to replace proper bodywork and spray painting techniques needed for some repairs. In general, if you can not feel the scratch with your fingernail you can probably sand and buff it out. We advise trying that first before attempting to paint. If the scratch is deep enough to feel then painting is the next choice. You must determine whether it can be touched up with the touch up sticks or not. If not, it will need to be sanded and painted. If you have any questions please contact us. TERMS: UC– Undercoat or Basecoat (usually a straight color) FC– Top coat ( Flat clear) ACT– Activator for UC & FC KEEP ALL LIDS CLOSED TIGHTLY! Information about the paint: This is a difficult color to match. The paint is an acrylic urethane designed specifically for Polaris. The paint must be top coated with acrylic urethane clear coat. The desired application temperature is 77* F @ 55% humidity. Paints do not need reduced but supplied activator must be added. Use an eye dropper to get accurate measurements Preparation: Wipe area to be painted with wax and grease remover. Painting: UNDERCOAT (UC): Shake paint well. The mixing ratio for the orange undercoat is 8:1. (8 paint (UC) to 1 activator (ACT) Mix this in a separate container. DO NOT PUT THE ACTIVATOR IN WITH THE PAINT IN THE BOTTLE! Only use what you need to fill in the scratch. Use the brush or touch up sticks to fill in the scratch. Let this dry a minimum of 1 hr. TOPCOAT (FC): The mixing ratio for the flat clear topcoat is 3:1. (3 clear (FC) to 1 Activator (ACT)). Mix this in a separate container. DO NOT PUT THE HARDENER IN WITH THE CLEAR IN THE BOTTLE! Only use what you need to fill in the scratch. Use the brush or touch up sticks to fill in the scratch. Let this dry a minimum of 24 + hours before handling. TIP: This is an extremely hard color to match. I suggest just using the orange to see how well it matches. Adding to much clear can change the color drastically. If it looks good with just the orange don’t add clear. Make sure to do a test spot first so you get the hang of it.
