First United Methodist Church of Delran, NJ Delran Doings Volume VIII, Issue II Mar/Apr 2013 Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! From the Outreach Committee THE BIBLE 30-DAY EXPERIENCE IS HERE During the five Sundays of March, in combination with The History Channel, we’ll explore The Bible, starting with the creation of man and ending with the revelation of a new world. We’ll start each week with Pastor Chris’ sermon. Next we will each watch the History Channel’s miniseries The Bible. The Bible miniseries Parts 1 & 2 will commence at 8pm on Sunday night, March 3rd on the History Channel. It will be repeated on Monday, March 4th on Lifetime TV and again on the History Channel on Wednesday, March 6th. New parts will be aired weekly for the next five weeks. If you don’t get the History Channel at home, we will have Viewing Parties; one at the parsonage on Monday evenings, and one at the Catanzariti’s home on Thursday evenings. Third, we can dig deeper with the Guidebook and Study Guide, either individually or in a Small Group setting. There are several Small Groups to choose from. The five-week study for individuals and small groups is based on some of the epic stories of the Bible, with an emphasis on God’s plan of redemption for mankind through Jesus Christ. Sign up to join a Small Group or attend a Viewing Party. Use these five weeks of study to enrich your Lenten season and celebrate Easter with new understanding. Thank you for your recent donations of cleaning supplies for the Disaster Relief Buckets. Your generous donations enabled us to deliver and provide 39 Relief buckets in response to Super Storm Sandy’s aftermath. With your compassion and benevolence we are able to help by providing care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. We continue to stay in contact with our local partners throughout the State to supply any additional aid and provide replenishment for the depleted supplies in the wake of disasters. Thank you for being a part of this Ministry! Mathew 5:16: In the same way let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. On behalf of the Fishes and Loaves Pantry at the 1st Moravian Church of Riverside, the official Food Pantry of the Triple-Town Ministerium: Thank you for your continuous food donations to the Fishes and Loaves Pantry. The food that you have provided has enabled the support and feeding of approximately 70 families on a continuous basis. With recent cutbacks in State aid, our Congregation stepped up to the plate to feed those less fortunate. “One mouth, one soup can at a time, times all of you = well fed children” The light of Jesus is truly shining through your commitment, generosity, and compassion for this Ministry. Isaiah 58:10: Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. x = PAGE 2 V O LU M E V I I I , IS S U E I I D E LR A N D O I NG S C the veil of the temple D many saints were Bible Trivia: was torn in two raised from the dead 1 As Jesus rode into Jerusalem, what did He say would cry out if His disciples didn’t? 4 On what day of the week was Jesus first seen after His resurrection?
