Make sure your student’s name is written in/on EVERYTHING. Do not share locker combinations with “friends”. 8 What Will Happen on My First Day of School? ▪ Opening Day for all students is August 18, 2016 ▪ Students wait in the front lobby until the 1st bell rings @ 7:50 AM, at which time they may go to their locker and report to 1st period/Homeroom. ▪ The first day of school is modified so students have an opportunity to meet the school staff and learn about the building. 9 More About Opening Day… Everyone is here to help you. We will help you read your schedule. We will help you find classrooms. We will help you with your locker combination. ▪ You will hear lots of bells and quickly learn what they mean. ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ 10 What’s for lunch? ▪ Bring a sack lunch at first. ▪ There are lots of healthy and tasty options. ▪ All 6th graders eat at the same time. ▪ Weather permitting, students may go outside at the end of lunch. 11 What if I Ride a Bus? ▪ Riding is a privilege. ▪ Know your bus number. ▪ Get to your locker and get outside quickly at the end of the day! ▪ The buses leave promptly. ▪ Rules for the bus are the same as the classroom. ▪ Where is my bus?
