NYCSALTisavolunteer-runafterschoolprogramforteenagers.Weteachphotography,assistwiththecollege
applicationprocessandprovideone-on-onementorship.NYCSaltserveshighschoolstudentsfrom14-18years
oldfromallpartsofthecityandisanintensiveprogramthatrunsthedurationoftheschoolyear.

APPLICATION
What:Thisisatwo-weeklongfreeDAYcampforhighschoolstudents.Thecampclasseswillcoverthebasicsof
digitalphotography,teachingstudentshowtoseepicturesintheworldaroundthemthroughanunderstanding
ofcomposition,light,colorandmoment.Studentswillspendatleasthalfofeachdaytakingpictureswith
camerasprovidedbytheprogram,practicingwhattheylearn.Thecampwillbetaughtbyaprofessional
photographerandNYCSALTstudioResidencyProgramstudents.Pleasenote:Onlystudentswhoqualifyforthe
freeorreducedpricelunchprogramareeligiblefortheSummerPhotoCamp.
Where:TheArtDirector'sClub(106West29thbetween6thand7th),a galleryandteachingspace.Duringthe
weeksofthe camp,wewillbringstudentsouttophotographatnearbytriedandtrueprime photo-oplocales
suchastheHighlineandTimesSquare.
When:MondayAugust15ththroughFridayAugust26th,from9:30am-3pm eachday.From5-8pmonAugust
26ththerewillbeanexhibitofthestudents’workfromtheweekwithareceptiontowhichallfriendsandfamily
areinvitedandstronglyencouragedtoattend.
Cost:Acceptedstudentsmustsubmitapaymentof$50,whichcoverslunchduringthetwoweeksofcampupon
theiracceptance(byMay15,2016).Camptuitionisfree.

Thestudentsarerequiredtogettoandfromthestudioontheirownorwithafamily
member/friend.Notransportationorreimbursementofsubwayfarewillbe provided.

Thisisagreatprogramforstudentswhohaveaninterestinphotographyorartingeneral.
Creativetypeswillreallybenefitfromthiscamp.Uponcompletionofthesummerprogram,
weencourage students to considerapplying to the school year NYC SALTprogram.

Eachstudentadmittedtothecampwillneedtohaveapermissionslipsignedbyaparentor
guardian(seebelow).

Lunchwillbeprovidedeachday,butnotbreakfast.
