Due to Occupational Health & Safety issues, Duty Of Care legislation and business practicality,
Salvos Stores cannot accept as a donation or offer for sale the following items,

Bean bags - material sack encasing a large
quantity of polystyrene foam beads used for
seating
Beds - water beds, bed frames with wire bases
and bed heads that are not freestanding.

Bean bags fitted with a child-resistant slide fastener.
Usually a zip with its tag removed, which locks into
place to prevent easy opening.
Bed frames with slats.
Bed heads that are donated as part of an ensemble
are acceptable. Please ensure bedheads are
dismantled from bases before pick up as drivers do
not carry tools.

Blinds (internal window coverings) that do not use
cords. Brand new blinds supplied with all tensioning
devices, warning labels and manufacturers
instructions. Curtain tracks without cord controls.

basins, doors, timber etc.
Car parts eg, doors, body panels, mechanical
parts etc.
Carpets and underlay.
Children’s car seats, booster seats and baby
capsules.
Commodes.
Cots.
Cots (Port-a-cots).
Cradles & walkers.
Furniture that is broken and incomplete. This
includes tables, chairs, wall units book shelves
etc.
Furniture (soft furnishings) that is stained,
torn or broken. This includes lounge suites,
chairs, rugs, mats, curtains etc.
Gas or electric ovens or cook tops.

Presence of the Standards Australia logo “AS/NZS
1754-2010”.
Antique rattan commodes with upholstered seat are
acceptable if the pan is removed and disposed of.
Presence of the Standards Australia logo “AS/NZS
2172-2003”. Antique cots are also acceptable.
Presence of the Standards Australia logo “AS/NZS
2195:1995” on the packaging and/or the port-a-cot.

Knives, all kitchen, carving, hobby, utility and
sporting knives.
Prams and strollers.

Electric column style oil heaters, halogen element
and bar style heaters are acceptable..

Table knives, knives used as part of table cutlery.

present on the pram. Antique prams are also
acceptable.

stained, torn or broken.
Monkey bikes, a small replica of a motor bike
usually powered by a petrol engine.

Stuffed animals, real animals that have died and
then preserved (stuffed).
Swing sets.
Trampolines (playground equipment).
Mattresses and/or bases that are acceptably clean,
not broken and free of tears and holes. Acceptability
of items of saleable quality with minor defects will
be left to the discretion of Salvos Stores staff at the
time of pick up or drop off.
Battery powered ride-on toy motor bikes, capable of
speeds around walking pace.

incomplete.
Computers, computer monitors, printers,
scanners and associated hardware.
Televisions of CRT (old tube style) or Plasma
types.
White Goods eg, not working or damaged
fridges, freezers, washing machines, dish
washers etc.

All working LCD or LED televisions are acceptable.
Any working white goods in “GOOD
CONDITION” and all clothes dryers and bar
fridges. Not all sites are capable of handling large
items, check with store staff first.
