Main Street Square to appear on Food Network on Sunday
DOWNTOWN RAPID CITY – Main Street Square in Downtown Rapid City will appear on “Great Food
Truck Race” on the Food Network on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m.
On June 1 and 2, five teams from the fourth season of the Food Network series, were vendors at Main
Street Square. The episode will feature area residents and visitors.
“When Main Street Square is featured on national television, Downtown Rapid City is in the spotlight,”
said Megan Karbowski, executive director of Main Street Square. “Television viewers from across the
country can see what we have to offer in Rapid City, South Dakota.”
Area attractions are also featured, including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument and Wild Idea
Buffalo Ranch.
The episode is called “About Face in South Dakota” and is described as: “The five remaining teams meet
Tyler [Florence] at Mount Rushmore, where they are given money to shop for supplies in Rapid City,
S.D., but without the use of their cars. The next day, a side of bison must be butchered and then
incorporated fully into their menus.”
