We are currently seeking individuals for our paraprofessional/teaching assistant position for our Autism program in the San Tan Valley in Arizona. Our program provides optimal and rigorous education to students in kindergarten through 12th grade who are challenged by social-emotional, learning, communication and behavioral difficulties. We utilize a structured teaching model that nurtures communication, self-help, academic, behavioral, and socialemotional growth in a positive learning environment, with a focus on preparation for postsecondary education, employment, and citizenship. Duties of the Teacher Assistant consist of: ● Provide instructional and behavioral support for students with behavioral/emotional/social/learning disorders. ● Provide behavior support in the classroom and intervention room ● Assist teacher with preparing and adapting materials ● Maintain classroom order, safety and materials ● Communicate behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff ● Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data ● Participate in problem solving meeting regarding student, classroom, and schoolwide needs Qualifications: ● High School Diploma or GED ● State Certified Paraprofessional preferred ● Post High School at least 23 years of age ● Previous experience working with special needs children preferred ● ● ● ● Dependability in attendance and punctuality Flexibility to change in routines Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Clean driving record/must be able to drive student van preferred This position offers an access to medical, dental, vision plans, 403(b), sick pay, holiday pay, and personal/vacation days.
