UNIVERSAL ROOF DUCTS
Klöber’s universal ventilation and ducting solutions can be used
with various metal roof profiles. Alongside ventilation hoods, the
product range includes various ducts for flue and ventilation systems as well as for solar pipes. With the self-adhesive collar, products can be quickly attached to metal surfaces without special tools
– no addit-ional mechanical fixing is required. If the collar is ap-
plied correctly, the bond on the metal surface, especially near the
joint running in the opposite direction to the flow of water, remains
watertight long-term.Furthermore, the bond makes it possible to
position ducts anywhere on the roof surface, meaning that there is
no need for expensive outlay on additional roofing sheets to reach
the ridge.

In accordance with IFBS guidelines, with roof ducts a problemfree water supply is to be ensured. In particular, near the transverse joint at the side of the ridge, running in the opposite direction to water flow, a permanent seal is an essential part of a
functioning intersection solution. Klöber’s universal ducts, used
in combination with sealant and fixing adhesive, make a permanent, watertight bond with the metal surface possible. As a result,
ducts are fully repositionable. The following handling guidelines,
however, should be observed:
Universal waste gas duct
This duct is equipped with a galvanised
steel cone (optional powder coating) and
includes a rain cover. It is suitable for waste
gas ducts up to gas temperatures of 120°C
and for ventilation ducts. For roof pitches
of 5°-32°. Ask about higher-angled pitches.

Klöber has a range of specialist products with excellent ventilating properties particularly for applications which demand high air
extraction performance, (e.g. kitchen extractor hoods, controlled
ventilation). The range includes, for a start, roof duct sets for varous
roof materials as well as various ventilation pipes and roof vents.
With the exception of line breathers (diameter 110mm), all ventilation pipes are insulated to prevent condensation.

VENDUCT®: SNUGFITTING & FUNCTIONAL
Clean, healthy indoor air is not a given. In their living spaces,
people and pets are constantlly exposed to impurities in the air.
A house must be able to breathe in order to remain healthy and
consequently be able to provide a healthy indoor climate. Wellinsulated houses need an efficient ventilation system to refresh and
cleanse indoor air. Stale and damp air (from dust, odours, smoke,
boiling water and sanitary facilities, for example), which are not
borne out of the building in a controlled way, sooner or later cause
serious harm.
Effective ventilation is also a requirement in commercial and
industrial areas, since additional impurities can arise from machines, installations or, in industrial areas, raw materials and
chemicals. It is preferable to get rid of waste air from domestic
appliances throught the roof, since in this way, noise and odours
can be minimised. Klöber waste air pipes and roof fans, in combination with the various roof duct sets as part of a ventilation system, ensure a constantly healthy indoor climate and help prevent
moisture damage.

SNUG-FITTING AND FUNCTIONAL
Suitable for fan-equipped ventilation (e.g. bathrooms, WCs) as well
as waste water pipe ventilators. High
ventilation properties, reliably removes
condensation and easy to install.
As standard, all Venduct® bases are provided with a factory-fitted
butyl seal on the underside. The seal is protected by foil, so that
bonding only takes place at installation. The bases also have 6 fixing points on the flange. Fixing is achieved by means of the special
screw/washer combinations provided, meaning all the components
for a quick, permanent and rainproof installation are included in
the box.
The snug-fitting Venduct® system is suitable for fitting on flat and
profiled metal roofs. The product system has proved itself over many
years in the pitched roof sector and includes ventilation solutions for
line breathers and room ventilation as well as for rainproof ducting
of antenna poles, solar and waste gas pipes.

PIPE COLLARS
FLEXIBLE, RAINPROOF FLASHING SOLUTIONS
Pipe collars guarantee watertight ducting of pipes, line breathers,
masts and electric cables. The flexible EPDM seal gives the pipe the
necessary freedom of movement for temperature-related changes
inlength, while at the same time guaranteeing a watertight seal
around the duct. The collars are made from high-quality EPDM
rubber with a flexible aluminium flange, which distinguishes itself
by its high resistance to weathering, ozone and temperature chang-
es. In addition, the EPDM rubber usedis acid- and alkali-resistant,
meaning these products can also be used in industrial areas. Collars are available in seven different sizes with a diameter of 12 to
660mm, the Retrofit collars (for existing pipes) in two sizes with a
diameter of 10-100 and 100-230mm. All pipe collars are available as a complete assembly.
Easy-Form® and Easy-Form® plus are the universal solutions for attaching roofing materials to protruding or penetrating components
(e.g. interfaces with walls, dormer windows or chimneys). In addition, the material is ideal for use with skylights and can, due to its
highly-flexible nature, also be used to make a seal around smaller
penetrating components, such as steel poles. It an slso be used to
repair roof materials.

Range of application
Rollable ridge solutions are suitable for making rainproof joins. Used
with trapezoid or sandwich components, the beading between the profiles in the ridge area (gabled roof) underneath the ridge sheet is shut
off from the rain, meaning there is no need to use profile fillers.
Eaves ventilated, with or without
comb
This reliable ventilation system for eaves even
bridges gutter brackets. There is no need
for additional laths and no buildup of water
can form in the event of precipitation. This
eaves component with comb offers reliable
prote-ction from bird entry without restricting
ventilation.
In addition, the used of ridge rolls, in combination with the corresponding ventilation in the area of the eaves makes optimal air circulation under the metal roof covering possible. Any condensation
forming on the underside of the steel panels can escape through the
ventilating ridge rolls.

Roof and façade problems solved, with no compromises
The rainproof, 5-layer and vapour-permeable Permo® sec SK forms
a perfect, textured separation layer between metal roof covering and substructure for all metal roofs. In accordance with DIN
68800-2 (Wood Preservation Standard – Part 2 – Structural Protection of Wood), a textured separation layer with a water-diffusing
coating must be present in any pitched, fully-insulated, unventilated

Grid sec is a pressure-stable, elastic, ca. 8mm thick mate-rial, but
without Permo® sec SK’s rainproof sealing film. It performs Permo®
sec SK’s barrier function perfectly when combined with an additional felt or waterproof layer, provi-ded it is already installed onsite.

Handling instructions
In contrast to the laying of Permo® sec SK, Grid sec should only
be laid parallel to the metal sheets. Only a simple mounting of the
fabric is needed, as the final fixing is done together with the metal
sheets. In this way it is possible to benefit from the advantages of a
separation layer with drainage function in different aspects of the
building process.

Handling instructions
In the case of titanium/zinc covers with pitches of ≥ 3° to 15,extrameasures in the form of separation layers with drainage functions
are mandatory. Furthermore, in accordance with DIN 68800-2, regardless of the type of metal covering,in the case ofnon-back-ventilated roof constructions on formwork or panelling, a separation
layer is also mandatory. Permo®sec SK complies, in this respect,

PERMO®: VAPOUR-PERMEABLE AND RAINPROOF
System accessories
UNDERLAYS
Depending on the roof construction, it is advisable to employ a
vapour-permeable underlay when laying metal coverings. Their
high permeability, in concert with reliable ventilation of the ridge
and eaves means any damp air can escape through the roof. The
high watertightness of the strips protects the layers under the roof
covering from rain and wind-driven snow penetration. Any moisture entering the roof structure is borne away by the strip, thereby
preventing moisture building up in the barrier layer.
Using Klöber accessories is recommended. These are specially-designed
to be used with the strips and covered
under the guarantee.
Through the use of roof strips, condensation is permanently absorbed and borne away. In addition, the strip acts as an isolating
air layer, significantly reducing existing moisture levels, thus preventing a buildup of condensation.
The use of strips can also be a good idea when combined with
trapezoid roof profiles. Due to the high heat transfer properties of
non-isolated trapezoid profiles, condensation tends to build up on
the underside. For the alleviation of this problem, often-used anticondensation fleeces can only do so much, due to their limited
absorbency, pushing some buildings to the limit of their designs as
a result. Moreover, moisture stored in the fleeces can lead to foul
odours in the wooden structure.
