DAY 1
Motor coach to Indianapolis airport and fly to San Francisco. Check into our hotel,
the Hotel Zephyr for the next two nights. It is located at Fishermen’s Wharf, right at
Pier 39. Not a better location in San Francisco. The evening is free to explore and
eat at one of the many places around the pier.
DAY 2
We will have a local step on guide join us on our motor coach for a four hour tour
of the most beautiful city in America. We will take in all the major sites. The rest of
the day is free to do what you want…maybe a tour of Alcatraz, ride a historic cable
car, cruise on San Francisco Bay. Dinner tonight will be a group affair at a fun place
on the wharf with a great view! D

DAY 3
This morning we travel south to Monterey, the city often called the greatest
meeting on land, sea and sky. It’s where
California’s state hood began in 1849.
Monterey is filled with lovingly restored
historic building and Spanish adobes.
Free time at Cannery Row. Check into
our hotel for a two night stay. Dinner at
a local favorite restaurant tonight. D
DAY 4
After breakfast we wind along the coast
on Pacific Groves Sunset Drive. Then enjoy Monterey’s famous 17-mile drive, also
known as one of the most breathtaking
coastlines in the world. Along the drive
you will pass through the Del Monte
Forest and see such famous sights as
the Lone Cypress Tree, perhaps the most
photographed tree in the world. Sea
Rock, where the seals may actually bark
at you. Drive by the Pebble Beach Golf
Course, where the fairways run along
seaside cliffs. Next a spectacular drive on
the Big Sur, one of the worlds most aweinspired coastal drives. Photo stop at a
Big Sur scenic viewpoint. Return north
via the Big Sur for a second opportunity
to see dramatic vistas. Drive through
charming Carmel by The Sea. Return to
our hotel in Monterey for our overnight.
Dinner will be included. B, D
DAY 5
Journey 90 miles along The Big Sur coast,
flanked by the Santa Lucia Mountains
and the rocky sea, for a trip that will
take your breath away. We arrive in San
Simeon to visit one of the world’s greatest showplaces, the palatial mountaintop
retreat of Hearst Castle built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. It
is located on a 40,000 acre ranch. Tour
some of its 165 rooms and 127 acres of
gardens, terraces, pools and walkways.
Return to Monterey for our overnight. B

DAY 6
This morning we head east to Yosemite National Park established in
1890. Yosemite’s 1,000 square mile park is an enduring legacy to the
efforts of naturalist John Muir, founder of The Sierra Club. Enjoy an
open-air tram tour of the wonders of Yosemite Park. We will
continue touring this beautiful
national park. Afterwards check
into our hotel.
DAY 7
After breakfast we will drive to
Napa and Sonoma and tour a
couple of the famous wineries.
Free time to explore the area
before we go to dinner and our
hotel. B, D
DAY 8
Travel to San Francisco airport
for our flight to Indianapolis,
taking with us many memories
of this beautiful land. B
