PART I: ACER Paragraph




You will write an ACER paragraph for the following prompt:
o Based on the characterization of the barber, why did he choose NOT to kill the executioner?
 Cite one passage from the text to support your answer.
 Remember to include the AUTHOR and STORY TITLE in your response.
 DO NOT use any first person! Don’t talk to the reader either (no you/your).
This must be typed and DOUBLE-SPACED (Arial, Calibri, Cambria or Times New Roman font, 12 point type).
BOLD or underline your “C.”

PART II: Plot Project
In addition to the ACER, you must also complete one of the three plot projects below.
CHOICE 1: Make a plot mountain diagram for the story.






Neatly type up each part of the plot. Make sure to proofread and write well!
Clearly label each part! (Exposition, Inciting incident, etc.)
Find a picture (hand drawn or computer generated) for each part of the plot.
Make sure your mountain includes a heading with:
o Your name, the date, your class period and student number
o Title: “Lather and Nothing Else” plot project
Be CREATIVE!
o It doesn’t have to be as small as a piece of paper. You can make it as large and as unique as you
want.
o If you can think of something else to demonstrate the “flow” of a plot other than a mountain, do it!
Don’t just copy the same mountain that Mrs. Pile has given you!
TO TURN IN:
o Print out a copy of your mountain to turn in with your rubric.
o Print out a copy of your ACER paragraph to turn in with your rubric.

CHOICE 2: Make a PowerPoint presentation for your plot mountain.






Create a slide for each part of the plot (one part of the plot per slide). Make sure to proofread and write
well!
Clearly label each part! (Exposition, Inciting incident, etc.)
Find a picture (hand drawn or computer generated) for each part of the plot. So, each slide should have at
least one picture!
BE CREATIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure your PowerPoint includes a slide with:
