Intermediate LUCY BALLOONS BAG What you’ll need 3 x 50g balls ‘Moda Vera’ BEETLE 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ LUCY BALLOONS 7.00mm crochet hook Stitch marker Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure Abbreviations ch = chain; dc = double crochet; htr = half treble crochet; lp/s = loop/s; patt = pattern; sl st = slip stitch; st/s = stitch/es; mesh htr = (yoh, pick up 1 lp of mesh, pick up lp in next st, yoh, pull yarn through all lps); Foundation row: Using 2 strands of Beetle together, work 20ch. Row 1: 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 17 ch, 3dc in last ch, turn and work along bottom, 1dc in bottom of each of next 17 ch, 2dc in last ch, sl st to 1st dc, mark start with stitch marker (40 dc). Rnds 2-3: 1ch, 1htr in each of next 40 sts, sl st into 1st htr. Rnd 4: 1ch, hold mesh yarn in front of work, and work 1 mesh htr into each st of round. Rnds 2-4 form patt. Repeat patt 4 times (moving mesh yarn up to each mesh round in a continuous spiral, cutting the yarn only after the last round is worked). Work 2 rounds of dc. Fasten off and sew in all ends. To finish Hold mouth of bag closed and using 2 strands of Beetle, join with a sl st into a dc on one side of the fold work 4dc into the top of the bag on each side of the fold, turn. Next row: 1ch, 1dc in each of next 4 sts, turn. Repeat last row until strap is desired length. Sew strap onto the other side of the bag and sew in all ends.
