Middle Schoolers! It’s Retreat Time! MIDDLE SCHOOL WEEKEND RETREAT! FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4th – SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6th OCEANWOOD in Ocean Park, Maine DON’T MISS IT!!! The Details: Being away on a Retreat together is truly one of the highlights of the Fellowship year. It’s a chance to get away with your Fellowship friends, to think together, learn together, grow together, eat together, play together, and, of course, laugh together – AND THIS YEAR OUR RETREAT WILL INCLUDE HORSES!!! Come along and join us for a fun-filled weekend at Oceanwood in beautiful Ocean Park, Maine. We will meet at the church at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 4th to make sure we can be on the road by 6:00 p.m. Make sure to bring your signed permission slip with you at this time. We need one from every person going on the retreat. If you are planning to participate in the horse portion of the retreat, you will also need a signed release for Oceanwood for that activity (also included here). We will return home around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday the 6th. If you have a conflict during the weekend, Oceanwood is only about an hour away, and you can be picked up there by family if needed – we would love to have you, even for part of the time! The cost of the retreat will be $110/person, which will include transportation, lodging, and meals while we are away. If you would like to participate in the horse portion of the retreat, there will be a small additional cost, which is being determined with Oceanwood now (we will update you ASAP). We will also stop for dinner on the way up – please bring money to cover that meal. $10 should cover it! As always, we DO have money available for financial assistance – so PLEASE don’t let money keep you from coming on this or any Fellowship experience. If you would like to talk about financial assistance, please talk with Julie or one of the advisors as soon as possible! We need to know for sure who will be coming to make sure we have a group to go, so please let Julie Flowers know no later than Sunday, October 30th! Friends are welcome on this retreat (ideally, we like to get to meet them ahead of time, so if any interested friends can join you at Fellowship on the 23rd or 30th or October, that’s even better)! And Don’t Be Without: A sleeping bag and a pillow (blankets or sheets if you prefer those are fine, too!) Towels and toiletries (toothbrush, hairbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, etc.) Warm clothes – including jacket, hat, mittens or gloves, scarf – it can get very chilly up in the evenings, and we will be outside! PLEASE don’t be without warm clothes for this weekend! A favorite snack to share with the group A favorite board game or card game to play during free time A baby picture of yourself (You’ll be using it the first night we are there, so please don’t forget – but, also, don’t show anyone else until our activity!) Definitely Don’t Bring: Your cell phone – well, you CAN bring it in the van, if you wish – we’ll be collecting them once we arrive at Oceanwood…the advisors will have phones in case of emergency, so don’t worry about that! This is a chance to unplug from technology and be present to and with one another! Your ipods, mp3 players, or other expensive music-playing, media-watching devices…we’ll be going away to spend time as a group, so we’ll leave behind all of the technology! Plus, we don’t want you to lose any of those expensive items! Questions? Contact Julie Flowers at First Baptist Church in Beverly 978-922-3295, ext. 109 or [email protected]
