Attach the ¼” Quilting Foot with IDT™ and thread your quilt ambition™ 2.0 with sewing thread on top and in the bobbin. 2. Sew the squares together into horizontal rows as illustrated in the diagram. Label each row. Alternate the pressing on the rows, so when you stitch them together the seams will interlock. 4. Sew the rows together. Press. Piping: 1. Attach the ¼” Quilting Foot with IDT™. 2. Sew together five 1 ¼” (3 cm) Purple Satin piping strips to form one long strip. 3. Attach the Fancy Stitch Foot and thread with Beige rayon thread on top and bobbin thread in the bottom. quilt ambition™ 2.0 Quilt 3 4. For the decorative piping, select Stitch # 87 5. Place a piece of tear away stabilizer under the 1 ¼” (3 cm) pieced Purple Satin piping strip. 6. Stitch the decorative stitch down the center of the strip. Tear away the stabilizer. 7. Select Stitch # 117 8. Place a piece of tear away stabilizer under a 1 ¼” (3 cm) Purple Satin piping strip. 9. Stitch the decorative stitch down the center of the strip. Tear away the stabilizer. Repeat for 3 more strips, for a total of 4 pieces. 10.Attach the Welting Foot and thread with purple cotton sewing thread on top and in the bobbin. 11.Place the cord on the wrong side of the piping strip and wrap it around the cord. 12.Place the fabric and cord under the groove of the Welting Foot, and the raw edges to the right. 13.Select straight stitch and stitch length of 3. 14.Stitch to cover the cording with fabric. 15.Stitch the covered piping (with stitch #117) to the 2 sides of the quilt. Then stitch the piping to the top and bottom. 16.Measure the length of the quilt and cut 2 of the 2” x 42” (5 x 115 cm) Medium Grey print strips to that size. 17.Sew the side inner borders to the quilt. Press towards the borders. 18.Measure the width of the quilt and cut 2 of the 2” x 42” (5 x 115 cm) Medium Grey print strips to that size. 19.Sew the top and bottom borders to the quilt. Press towards the borders. 20.Stitch the covered piping (with stitch #87) to the 2 sides of the quilt. Then stitch the piping to the top and bottom. 21.Attach the ¼” Quilting Foot with IDT™. 22.Sew together the remaining five 2” x 42” (5 x 115 cm) Medium Grey print strips to form one long strip. 23.Attach the Welting Foot. 24.Measure the length of the quilt and cut 2 border pieces that size. 25.Sew the side outer borders to the quilt. Press towards the borders. 26.Measure the width of the quilt and cut 2 border pieces that size. 27.Sew the top and bottom borders to the quilt. Press towards the borders. Quilting Your Quilt: 1. Lay backing fabric wrong sides up on flat surface. Lay batting on top. 2. Center your quilt top on the batting and backing. 3. Baste your quilt top to the batting and backing with pins. 4. Attach the Stitch-in-Ditch Foot with IDT™. Thread with Mono-filament thread on top and thread matching quilt back in the bobbin. 5. Stitch “in the ditch” between the coloured squares that make up the design, not the white tone on tone squares. quilt ambition™ 2.0 Quilt 4 6. Attach the Open Toe Free-Motion Foot. Thread with White rayon thread on top. 7. Draw lines with a fabric marker as shown in the illustration. 8. Set your quilt ambition™ 2.0 to free-motion sewing following instructions in your manual. 9. Stipple quilt in the areas as illustrated. quilt ambition™ 2.0 Quilt 5 Binding 1. Attach the 1A foot with IDT™. Thread your machine with sewing thread top and bottom. Select the 3-step zig zag and stitch around the edge of the quilt top. 2. Trim the excess backing and batting even with the edge of the quilt top. 3. Attach the ¼” Quilting Foot with IDT™. 4. Sew the binding strips together into one long strip. Press the seams open. Fold the binding in half lengthwise wrong sides together and press. 5. Place the binding on the right side of the quilt with the raw edges even, stitch the binding in place around the quilt. 6. Attach the Narrow Edge Foot with IDT™ and thread with Mono-filament thread on top and sewing thread on the bottom to match your binding. 7.
