INFORMATION
ANNUAL FEE FOR JUNIOR ENGINEERS AND ENGINEERS-IN-TRAINING REGISTERED ON THE ROLL LESS THAN 1 YEAR AGO
Junior engineers or engineers-in-training who registered between April 1, 2016, and March 31, 2017, pay no annual fee for the first year
they are entered on the Roll of the OIQ. For their second annual membership dues payment, junior engineers or engineers-in-training
pay a prorated amount based on the number of months that have elapsed since the date on which they first registered for the roll. The
prorated amount of dues is calculated in such a way that junior engineers or engineers-in-training receive one full year of membership
without annual fee. However, junior engineers or engineers-in-training who have been registered for less than one year must pay the
OPQ contribution and the group professional liability insurance plan premium.
Example: An eligible applicant is registered on the roll on December 1, 2016. For the 2017-2018 year, beginning on April 1, 2017, the
annual fee will be calculated as follows: the number of months between December 1 and April, i.e. 4, divided by 12, multiplied by the
amount of the annual fee. The amount will then be a third of the fees.
The amounts appearing above are non-refundable and are subject to change
FEE SCHEDULE (taxes included)
Effective from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018
HOLDER OF A TEMPORARY RESTRICTIVE ENGINEERS’S PERMIT
Holders of a temporary restrictive engineer’s permit who registered for the roll between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017 paid a prorated
amount for their first annual dues payment that varied according to the number of months remaining in the year ending March 31, 2017.
For their second annual dues payment, they pay the full amount.
RETIRED STATUS
To be eligible for the retired status, members must meet the following conditions: be currently retired (no income from employment);
have been entered on the roll for a number of years that, when added to the member’s age, is equal to or greater than 80; and have
been on the roll, in any member category, without interruption, in the five years preceding the year of the request. A member who no
longer qualifies for the status must pay the full annual fee.
PERMANENTLY DISABLED MEMBERS
To qualify for “permanently disabled” status, members must provide a proof of permanent disability issued by the Régie des rentes du
Québec.
CONTRIBUTION TO OFFICES DES PROFESSIONS DU QUÉBEC
All members without exception must pay the mandatory contribution to the Office des professions du Québec (OPQ).
GROUP PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE PLAN
All OIQ members, except lifetime members (a status which has not been granted since 1993) and permanently disabled members must
pay a premium for the group professional liability insurance plan.
The amounts appearing above are non-refundable and are subject to change
